Will the amp for the ers-212 have metal face plates like the MPS-1 or DMR-1? Sure would look nice.

I was hoping to find out when I can expect to pick up the 112 sub but I guess I will have to see when the 212 is released if the 112 is there too

Dann, since you have listened to 6.3's with the subs, can you give me a recommendation on what sub, ERS 112 or 212, you think would best be matched for the 6.3's being the left, right and center speakers?

Well, I think it depends on what you're trying to do. If you're just adding some low end to things, the 112 is fine. If you're trying to really push things, and want to shake the room, 212. We did ok in the demo room with a single sub, but two would have made things a hotter, to say the least.

You know the cost difference between the 212 and the 112 makes not going with the 212 a bit silly if you ask me.

Dougie085, I completely agree. In my experience is isn't just about boom though in HT it will definitely have more boom with ease. The imaging of stereo subs is incredible and when I went from one Strata III to two the soundstage got much more detailed and blended even better with my mains.

Yeah although possibly not audible more drivers usually result in pushing them less as hard which keeps them more in their low distortion sweet spots.

Its just duals. no true "stereo" going on for the low frequencies...

You have to carefully setup 2 subs as well. There can be a lot of cancelation things taking place. With that said I'm not sure it will be a problem with these subs because they have the room correction software.

With this room correction the setup should be a breeze with the duals, and even the single. My main point was that just because its dual subs does not mean they are stereo subs...in fact i dont even see how a stereo sub would really benefit you seeing that when a sub is correctly setup you shouldn't be able to tell where the sound emits from... But there are some subs like this and they are really intended for music use.

Yeah without auto room correction your actually better off with 3+ subs if you want to use more then one as far as setup goes lol. But the 212 should sound sweet no matter what with the correction software..... I really want the amp hehe ;D

bigred7078, I am not sure about the input options on the 212s. However my subs are using the Neutrik plug that is directly connected to the amp. Each sub is being fed a only a single channel in their respective position. Rel, Magnepan, and other companies recommend directly plugging the sub into the amplifier so that the sub can match the characteristics of the amplifier source. I know when I went from my Anthem to the XPA2 the base was dramatically different. I played to my subs at one point and A-B-A tested between the amps and there was a dramatic difference. So manufacturers that claim that high inputs are neutrik inputs are better due to characteristic matching aren't kidding.
