Did they just go down to $29.98 a pair...? Or is that for one speaker? Solid value and a great buy, regardless. Recent glowing review in "Stereophile" mag AND on sale until 12/26/12: $34.80 per PAIR! at: www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-652IMHO, you just CAN'T do better for surround or center channel use at anything less than 10x the price! Yeah, I'm putting my money where my mouth is - mine are ALREADY ORDERED! Just picked up a pair just to hear them.

^I thought they might be but didn't want to say anything. Mind you, for a garage system, they may work.

I purchased the Parts-Express speakers for a friend and at first thought they were pretty horrible. I was powering them with a 150 watt class AB amp, then I hooked up my Lepai 15W T-amp and the speakers sounded very good in frequencies above 80 HZ. I listened to Dave Matthews and Tim Renolds for a good 30 minutes and thought they were every bit a good buy. Not sure why they sounded so much better powered with a low watt amp, but maybe give it a try. I did notice that most of the good reviews seemed to come from people powering them with a low watt amp.

I powered them with a Qinpu A-6000 amp with a whopping max power of 2 x 16.5W RMS (8 ohms). Several other speakers sound good with this amp, but not these. That said, everyone has an opinion about what is good or bad.

I see, I do admit that after hearing they received a good review in Sterephile, I expected better.

I have a pair, very comfortable and very neutral sounding, nice for casual listening.

Looks like a deal that can't be refused! I didn't. This is my second one. I got it a few months ago for $25 and will be giving the second one away as a gift.

It's back, free Sound & Vision subscriptions.Even if you already have a subscription you can sign up and as long as you put the identical information it should just add another year's worth.I think all they will let you do however is about 4 years. cdn.mercurymagazines.com/121-1211254/index.html
