My family was suppose to pick them up when they came to visit but something came up so there sitting there. Its a long drive but I'm trying to make time to go get them or see if there still coming to visit soon.I already bought 2 mono blocks for them also .

Pray your family will be kind enough to pick them up for you and bring them to you. With gas at $4/gal and rising, a 1,000 mi. road-trip could easily consume 50 gallons - assuming that your vehicle gets 20 mpg. That would cost you $200 + the cost of meals and such. If you can't do it in one day (candya$$), you must also factor in the cost of a hotel room, say $50. So, you're looking at $250 - $300 to get those bad boys.
How much does UPS/FedEx charge for ground shipping to your address?

If they cant do it soon I will have to send someone to pick them up or I will do it myself in a couple weeks . Maybe they would fit in the wife's car which gets 30mpg plus ;D

Are these replacing the Klipsch? Don't know yet If you don't pick them up soon they'll be obsolete as Goldenear will be releasing their much improved next generation Triton. . . . The Triton Two 2 . . . . . and yes the new cloth covering is pink. ;D

Overkill? Yes. Insane? No, not if your pocketbook can handle it. Me, I'd buy an XPA-5.

It is in the budget, sort of. I am unsure of the XPA 5 in this huge room. I also want lots of headroom and the best sound possible, of course for the $.

Triton II's have gotten rave reviews. Not sure I like their looks but they sure are supposed to sound great. :-)

Dyohn is absolutely right, the XPA-5 is plenty of amp for those speakers and your room. The XPA-2 would be a waste of money. Be smart and go with the XPA-5. Spend the dough you save on room treatments and better source material, that's a difference you can easily hear...

I have an XPA-2 for the fronts and an XPA-3 for center and surrounds. It is plenty. I think putting the biggest monoblock amp on the center is wasteful. But that is just me.
My great room is about twice yours and the XPA-2/XPA-3 is fine. You are going to need a multiple of good big subs to move enough air to fill the space if you want it to be full of sound.
I doubt I would be able to tell the difference between my setup and a single XPA-5 with my current speakers.

XPA-1 for the GE center channel is way overboard. I almost purchased the Triton II's but the center channel just didn't cut the mustard. It is by far their weakest link in their system. I guarantee you Sandy comes out with a much better center during CEDIA. Trust me get an XPA-5 and save the dough for a better sub or subs or room treatments. You will get a better bang for your buck.

Remember I have 4 Triton 2's which have 1,200 watt amps in each speaker. I also have a Velodine sub in the mix. Golden ear suggest that I put a sub on the center channel which may be an option down the road. If they had a better center channel I would have purchased it. I still think an xpa-5 is insufficient and I agree an xpa-1 for the center is over kill but the only other choice is an xpa-2 for the front mains and an xpa-3 for the center and rears. Does anyone have any other thoughts.

XPA-5 XPA-2 LR + XPA-3 SL SR C XPA-1 (X3) LRC +XPA-2 SL SR XPA-1 (X5) LRC SL SR
The internal woofers in the towers may do very well, but they won't reach into the lower frequency like larger drivers in 15-18 inch subwoofers. For a big space you have to move a lot of air to reach higher SPLs.
If you want to spend the money buy XPA-1 all the way around, then you have the ultimate. But at some point the law of diminishing returns takes effect.
I have the XPA-2/XPA-3 combo. It is huge, for me and my room. In all honesty, I do not know if I would be able to hear the difference if I were to only have an XPA-5.
Members with much more sexperience than either of us, feel the XPA-5 is adequate.
If you can afford to double the money go XPA-2+XPA-3. Then buy another velodyne sub to match the one you have. Or two new subs if your velodyne is small.
If you can afford more spending go up to XPA-1 (X3) + XPA-2 and subs
If you have money to burn XPA-1 (x5) and subs
I believe rather than buying huge amps, just to have huge amps, you should go more middle of the road in regards to amps and buy top end sources and high speed room treatments.
If money is no a concern at all, then buy the biggest and baddest. But even then, you will need large subs and room treatments to make the most of the powerful amps.
I saw where you liked the automotive comparison. Think of it this way. You have to get the power all the way down to the road surface for it to be of any value comparitively. It is about so much more than just a giant engine.

Can you give me an idea of something for room treatment, I guess I am a novice at such things.
Thanks
