Yup, I'm looking for someone who knows of a cabinet builder in the SF bay area. I figure that with all the bat-sh**-insane-take-no-prisoners subwoofer guys here that somebody would available to take on the work.
You see, it's my visually mismatched subwoofers; They're driving me crazy. In each front corner i have stacked sets consisting of a M&K MX-5000 on the bottom with two MK MX-2000s on top of that. But the MX-5000s are of a slightly different driver configuration that the 2000s. Both cabinets are rectangular,, but one has the driver in the front baffle while the other subs have the drivers mounted on the sides...
So there you are, trying to corner-load these beasts and you realise: " Hey, waitaminute! I can't get all the drivers to actually face the wall at the same time!" Either you orient two of them sideways and one backwards...or you give up.
Damnit! I want ALL my cabinets to be the same.
Sorry-End of rant. Anybody got ideas?

As for making the best of what you have,I'm not sure how you have yours connected but most players actually have a better picture using composite instead of the s-video out.The exceptions are the CLD-99 with a 3D comb filter and some of the Japanese imports. Also, yours looks like one of the combo DVD/LD units and I have heard that the picture is compromised on both in order to have one unit play both.I have never owned a combo unit though to actually compare.

I have Fourteen-don't you? ;D as i mentioned earlier, the current placement is temporary. the room it's normally set up in is the size of a movie theater-19,000 cubic feet. now try filling up my room with a standard set-up. can't be done. there's a reason why theaters need to use so many speakers... -b

I may be wrong, but it looks to me like those speakers you have there are not all from the same manufacturer. Even in a huge space, how can that setup sound decent? Voice matching is completely gone. Just seems a bit wierd to me.

Just seems a bit wierd to me. all of them are from M&K. the smallish monitors with the two drivers and three tweeters are salvage from lucasfilm; they're used for nearfield dubbing during editing. the larger cabinets with the two 6" drivers and only two tweeters between are the mates, used for playback in the screening room. and they all use the same crossovers. -b
