I'm a Young fan, but after looking at the names of the songs, I'd think I'd want to hear it first. It may be interesting to hear his rendition of these ancient songs.
Panasonic 65st50, Marantz AV8801
, NAD M25, Paradigm 100v3, cc570v3, SA15r in walls, Rumba 12 sub, Samson sx1800 amp for subs, Oppo BDP95 , Music Hall MMF7, Goldring Eroica, Cambridge p540+Pangea P-100, Panamax m5300, Monoprice cables, and one very dedicated room.
I see the Americana got some pretty mixed reviews over on Amazon. I just listened to the samples on the mp3 page and it actually sounds pretty interesting to me. Definitely not your run of the mill collection of songs!
How is the audio quality on this? The Amazon samples sound like it was done first take in a garage.

I have not spun this on the theater system yet. Sounds as fine as really distorted Neil electric can sound - in the car and on a little mini-shelf system circa 1999 in the bathroom. Have no issues. Now some of the vocals are really rough which leads me to support the garage comment. ;D

I going to stop by J&R to pick up a copy of Americana during my lunch break.
I have a few friends coming over to my house tomorrow so I'll pop this in, serve Royal Salute, watch the Rust Never Sleeps DVD, serve more Royal Salute, then watch the Pacquiao fight.

Well heck.. it's so cheap on Amazon I might as well check it out. I only heard 30-second samples but they sure did pack a lot of raggedness, roughness, sloppiness and spontaneity into each second. ;D
