Well it finally made it, the XPA-7 is on the product page. $1599 is higher than reported above, I noticed it's paletized so higher shipping costs and no international shipments. Still a lot of power for the money, but at this point I'll have to wait until spring. Edit: 520 Watts per channel, 2 channels driven into 8 ohms! An e-club membership in this situation pays for itself and then some! Does it??? No shipping to EU!! Hence I am bummed!!! Very disappointed paying e-club member here! I will not be buying anymore Emotiva stuff until they reconsider this policy. And then they complain that 7-channel amps are slow sellers. But the only thing they had so far were modest UPA's that ware no real upgrade for AVR's. Appalling

Appalling Don't give up yet, I notice on the Emotiva Facebook page under the XPA-7 listing, they make a comment on how to make an international order - presumably with Bongo or whatever it is (Oingo Boingo?). I know you've wanted this, there must be a way.

Maybe this could be a solution? I know you've been very interested in this amp, however I remember the state your XPR-5 box was in when you recieved it. Perhaps this was an all too common occurrence when shipping XPR's to Europe. Having a re-shipper crate them up for you may not be a bad idea.

At this time, we cannot ship the XPA-7 internationally. It is only available for purchase in the USA.

www.borderlinx.comwww.borderlinx.com/en/shipping-cost-calculatorI had a go with the calculator of the above reshipper. The shipping of the (palletized) XPA-7 would be 462 USD. I bought the XPR-5 in mid 2012 and the shipping of the non-pallatized box was 251 USD. The cardboard box was really undone by the time it arrived though. Luckily no damage. Would it be really so hard for Emotiva to come up with a decent packaging that not required using a pallet? They build houses with cardboard!

The unboxed size dimensions for the XPA-7 is: "Size: unboxed: 17” wide x 7 3/4” (5RU) high x 19” deep"
The unboxed size dimensions for the XPA-1, XPA-3, and XPA-5 appear as: "unboxed: 17” wide x 7 3/4” high x 19” deep"
Although, the XPA-7 denotes 5RU of which to my understanding is truly 8.75" high?
From the pictures, the XPA-7 does to me look as taller in height than the XPA-1, XPA-5, and XPA-3?

It must be 8.75" tall (5RU) plus feet. I'm wondering if it shares the XPR-5 chassis which is: unboxed: 17" wide x 9.5" high x 19.5" deep ,boxed: 27" length x 25" width x 16" height. The 9.5" high would be 8.75" + feet. Web page is probably just wrong.

He was not sure if the XPR rack mount would fit it. Quick phone call does it all!!!

The XPR mounts are designed to match the XPR face plates, so you probably wouldn't want to use them anyway! They'd look... odd. Weird. Hard to find a picture of them (URE-5)

Hi guy's, Think of an XPA-5 with two more amp blades, a bigger power supply, and the chassis height raised by 1RU to accommodate the revised PS and amp modules. That would look like an XPA-7. With more blue lights, of course! Cheers, Big Dan I did see this on the very first page....

You are correct, they do build houses out of cardboard, but the difference is those houses don't get ship halfway around the world by common carriers dropping it, throwing it on conveyers and generally beating the $h!tt out of at every stop. Now I don't want to offend anyone here, so if you work for a carrier service, I am not singling out anyone. I know a lot of people who are very careful and do fantastic jobs, but there are always those who don't and it seems like when we ship something like this over seas the damage is just excessive. This causes a huge problem for both the customer and for us. We want to take care of it as quickly as we can, but the normal procedure is to have the carrier pick up the unit, go through it and report on whether they will cover the damage. Which is always no the first time around and thus the process goes a second round and in the end we ship out another unit and pray it makes it in good order. So I truly apologize about the decision to withhold shipping to EU for now and I can tell you we are working to make the packaging as strong as we can with in what is reasonable. so hopefully we will be able to ship to the EU soon. Lonnie /Flame suit on. Has any consideration been given to making the packaging robust enough to survive UPS/Fedex? I know that they struggle with heavy packages. I only ask because they are so much cheaper and so much more convenient. Freight has it's own challenges, like arranging delivery. I'm not convinced that freight is always that much more gentle. Gentle and freight don't always go hand in hand. I guess my logic was - if you could package it to survive a trip to EU, it should be durable enough for domestic UPS/Fedex? I figure I can ask since I purchased 2 XPR-5s before the change to freight. Both arrived fine, except the styrofoam was in bad shape in 1 of them. I know that others weren't as lucky. I think most carriers will admit stuff gets mishandled. One comment that I've seen repeatedly is something to the effect of "If it's not packaged well enough to survive falling off the back of a truck, it's not packaged well enough". Personally, I loved the XPA/UPA packaging with the foam (rather than styrofoam). That seemed to hold up well.

I can't speak for Lonnie or anyone at Emotiva but I would hazard a guess when it is strong & light enough to shop to EU, it maay be good enough to survive UPS & FedEx domestically. *fingers crossed*
