OK, as of yesterday (at least that's when I heard it) we can consider the title of this thread accurate again. 'They're on the boat' was the status I heard, Dan seemed pretty confident that the XPA-7 G2 will be out in September. Some numbers being thrown around were 200W x 7 @ 8 ohms, 300W x 7 @ 4 ohms, 500W x 2 @ 8 ohms; 15 amp circuit, 90 something pounds. I'm happy to see it here and good timing with the XMC-1 hitting the streets. Oh, and $1499 MSRP (so $1349 eClub) Here's another picture from EmoLA ...

I want two for my triple active LCR and the rest of the surround set-up. Price is not good as three XPA-5 would also be $3K and have one more amp channel, 15 in total. But I prefer two 5RU units over three 4RU's (leaving space for future expansion, hah).
If XPA-3 costs $799, XPA-5 $999 and the XPA-7 $1499 than the XPA-5 is the best value. This might people stop from buying it, after which Emotiva can claim, once again, "as before, 7-channel amps are slow sellers". Tsk...

Yes, I noticed the dollar per channel cost is higher on the XPA-7. Using eClub XPA-5~ $180/Ch, XPA-7 ~ $192/Ch, XPA-3 ~ $240/Ch. For you shipping would probably be much better on (2) 7's rather than (3) 5's right? The power supply on the XPA-7 is much heftier than the XPA5 and legitimately adds some of the cost (Dan told me the VA but I don't remember). This will appeal to those who use their systems for two channel as well - the 2C numbers above were good with 500W/Channel into 8 ohms - less incentive to do an XPA-5 and XPA-2 (and 3U smaller).

I look at it (an XPA-7) as having the same output (500 watts per channel) for stereo as an XPA-2, whilst having the same power output for 5 channels as an XPA-5. Hence it's like having an XPA-2 and XPA-5 combo (total cost $1898) for $1499. Sounds (sic) like a bargain to me. Cheers Gary

Finally a worthy one box amp for the XMC-1! One thing: the XPA-5 too has a "heftier" power supply vs the XPA-3 while only costing $200 extra. I presume the 500 Watt - 2 channel was 4 ohms, not 8 ohms? Still deeply impressive! What do we know about the amount of storage capacitance?

He said 500W into 8 ohms, but we probably shouldn't hold them to it until we see the published test results (if they even publish that spec). The way Dan talked the product sheet with more details should be up in the next week or two.

Heck, the XPR-5 is 500 W in 8 ohms (2 ch)!. The power supply might be something like 1.6 - 1.7 kVA if it is about the same per channel as the XPA-3 (0.85 kVA) and XPA-5 (1.2 kVA) and judging by the extra weight over the XPA-5?

Hope to se tests out on this unit soon, at least 2-3 days before release should be great. :-) Also hope to se a Offer like a "release price" for the first buyers that other brands have with new products that hits the market.

Well it finally made it, the XPA-7 is on the product page. $1599 is higher than reported above, I noticed it's paletized so higher shipping costs and no international shipments. Still a lot of power for the money, but at this point I'll have to wait until spring.
Edit: 520 Watts per channel, 2 channels driven into 8 ohms!

Bruce, as you reported from the LA Emotiva on the Road gathering, this final price is $100 higher. I think anyone considering this amp should seriously consider the Sherbourn PA7-350 also. More power, and similar pricing for most units that are only a year old. And yes, I do have a PA7 for sale .

I couldn't wait, so I just ordered another combination. And now it's out! But hey, I live in Norway, so... that would've been a double regret, I guess. I envy you guys in the US for being able to gettings this shipped!
