I had CS3.6s and they were absolutely stellar with an XPA-2. Cool! Given the similar power ratings, one would imagine the XPA-1Ls would be even better, then... Obviously something has to give to fit them in two small boxes, but if the power supply "manliness" of the two combined is as "manly" as the one in the XPA-2, I figure I'll be good to go...

I hope these are more like XPA-1's than XPA-100's in terms of power supply sturdyness and capacitance. ...

Ya... otherwise I'm stuck going elsewhere or holding out for XPA-1XLs

Oh man, I can't wait for these to show up. I've been avoiding buying amps ever since this amp was announced. I think a pair of these will be amazing with an XDA-2 and my high sensitivity speakers.

+ it would be an affordable fully balanced amp with tons of secondary capacitance and class A output. I just really hope they make this 29 db gain! Please!

" I took pics of the back of the XPA-1L and will post them when I get back home tomorrow. Very impressive. Gain is 29 db. Amp does get hot to the touch so proper ventilation a must. This was Lonnie's pet project and his response to our requests in the lounge. We didn't get a chance to listen to it but Lonnie said it sounds awesome!"

Yep, they are going to be so sweet. I love that they're in a 2RU chassis as well. I just don't have the room for the big guys in my two channel system.

I do believe that two of these for a serious two-channel system is going to be hard to beat. I bet these will be hard to keep in stock once a few reviews get posted.

This is the primary reason I'm considering this amp. I'd love a regular XPA-1, but they are too large to fit in my rack without getting new shelves. Plus, I much prefer the 2RU size. There are lots of good things going for this amp and I can't wait to read the reviews. I plan on getting 3 of these for LCR, but will start out with 1 for the center channel.

What's great about it is that it incorporates the main improvement in the XPR amps (the 29 db gain) while having none of the "cons" - if you may allow me to use that phase. It has serious class A power which the XPR's don't have. It's less costly than a pair of XPR-1's and gives a more realistic amount of power for regular users than the xpr -1 and 2 does.

Perfect amp? Well, I suppose there is no such thing, but the 1L comes pretty darn close for me.Assuming that it performs as well as I think it will of course lol.

It may very well be the last amp I ever need. I suspect it will be that way for many other folks, too. The next time I see Lonnie and Dan, I'm gonna give 'em a big wet sloppy kiss! Or an all-expenses-paid dinner at the restaurant of their choice.

Does anybody know how long the CE and FCC testing takes?

Sounds like they are possibly already on a "slow boat from China". ;D ;D
For them to be here during Feb they will need to be shipped very, very soon as it takes close to 30 days to make the trip from China to Franklin.

I've been happy with my MPS-1 for the past 8+ yrs, since I bought it from AV123. Now the XPA-1-L amp is the first amp I've seriously thought of purchasing since buying my MPS. I definitely see 2 mono blocks in my future!
