But how long before he sells them? ;D Never!!!!! Just like i wont sell my PD30's Well after you get done making your custom faceplates for the XPA-1'd they will be too heavy to lift so you won't possibly be able to sell them even if you wanted to! ;D

Just make sure your foundation can handle the weight of the custom casing you're sure to put on it!

A 100db plus sensitivity speakers and 1000 watt amps on each speaker. Can your ear really handle that much of a volume? Is this system meant for rock concert arena?

Matt,
Don't know what reason for the screw in the middle of one of your XPA-1's, but I've looked at my XPR-5 and it has one in the middle also, though my XPA-2 & XPA-5 don't.

I did get a reply from Nick. He said they are from different production runs. Sometimes they make very small changes to make it easier for technicians to do repairs.

"I listen to music around 95-105db. That's like a watt lol. If I wanted to, I could get them to 130db. "
Wow. I am speechless....
Almost. I am *not* hammering you, Kraemer, but, IMHO, this is the worst sort of overkill. It's akin to rabbit hunting with a 12 ga. Why didn't you opt for better-quality, lower-powered amps instead? Oh, never mind, I think I know - you did it because you could. Carry on.
-RW- One heads-up for you - if you value your hearing at all, you should *seriously* consider backing that volume down a bit. See the "chart" below. I can tell you that I find a vacuum cleaner very noisome and even wear earplugs when vacuuming my home. My hearing, despite my advanced years<g>, is really quite sensitive. I can hear it when my son turns on the overhead fan in his room, with both our doors closed, AND I'm wearing -32db earplugs. Back in my audio-selling daze, I came to be very protective of my hearing - I never, *ever* want to lose the extreme joy I derive from my favorite music...
OSHA requires employers to take steps to reduce exposure levels when the TWA reaches 90 dB(A)
0 db Threshold of hearing 30 db Whisper 40 db Buzz of mosquito 50 db Normal conversation 70 db Vacuum cleaner 100 db Subway or power mower 120 db Rock concert 130 db Jackhammer or machine gun 150 db Nearby jet plane
