'Allo Monsieur Frog, I would recommend waiting just a bit longer. The XMC-1 will blow you away! And you'll have a few coins left over for buying le music with.

What features are you looking for? That should determine what you should do.
Example: If you want airplay, the Denon would be your choice.
Also the AVR-3313CI is the newest model and retails for $1200. You should be able to find it for lower if you shop around.

Mind you, this is just a features comparison. I cannot and will not make comparisons on how they will sound since no one has directly compared the two.
The choice is totally yours.
Good luck!

Now that I think about it i would seriously consider the older 4311 instead of the newer 3213. You can still pick one up for under $1200 if you shop around.

Denon 4311 is $1,299 shipped from Audioholics store. Same at Electronics Expo. It's a very good unit when used as a pre-pro with an emo amp.
PS: you need to call them on the phone to get these prices

You could add the AudysseyPro kit to the Denon 4311 and then you would have a calibrated microphone and the ability to adjust the target frequency curve. This would put you in the $1800 range, but it would be a killer setup that you can get today.
Another option is the Anthem MRX 500 which comes with calibrated microphone and their own room customizable correction (very well regarded) for about $1000
