It is generally believed that bi-amping, and bi-wiring do not yield any audible improvements, unless there are serious modifications done to the speakers. Ie, removing the internal crossovers from inside the enclosure, and adding active, external crossovers. Having said that, I like to bi-wire my B&Ws with my XPA-1s. I did some A/B listening tests, and could detect no audible differences in sound. Additionally, Emotiva themselves used to bi-amp the ERT 8.3 towers when displaying them at audio shows, or in their own audio rooms. They had two XPA-1s on EACH speaker! Yes, you read that correctly, QUAD monoblocks. ;D Good luck with whatever you choose and as always...YMMV.
