Who's DACs? Sorry again I went back a ways but missed a discussion of DACs in this thread. It's ok, I don't need to get it. There wasn't a DAC discussion per se. What he was saying is that Emotiva need step up the SQ of their own DACs to equal the SQ that can be achieved with a nice source (in this case a DAC) in front of the XSP-1. In other words, he felt the performance of the XSP-1 was strong enough to show the weaknesses in the XDA-1. Therefore the XDA-2 and Pro DAC need to be equally good, to be optimal sources to put in front of it...or that is how I understood it anyway. ;D Hope that helps. ^ What he said

And...I am suspecting we just might see that jump in DAC performance w/the ProDAC, if what we heard at Emofest was any indication. Mark I think that the ProDAC will be perfect with the XSP + nCore solution you have. Probably well worth the premium over the XDA-2. I actually think it would be interesting to see how the ProDAC by itself compares to the XSP-1, in the spirit of the fewer items in the chain the better... but that will come once its available. -gk

There are many possible interpretations of your comment, jamsick. I mean, jamrock...007 got me off track. Anyway, care to elaborate on which specific interpretation you mean?
Anyway jamrock - if you are thinking along the lines of the placebo effect noted in another thread and thinking it relates to the positive reviews of the XSP-1...I say - go listen to one with a sufficent source, amp, and speakers to hear what others are saying. Make your own call.
And...if you are thinking placebo effect as it relates to the ProDAC...well, you missed the ProDAC/Stealth combo at Emofest. This combo was nothing short of spectacular.
I had and have no vested interest in the XSP or ProDAC. In fact, I would prefer the XSP-1 sucked as I could have returned it and been $800 ahead...happily. But, that's not the case. And, it may or may not be the case should I decide to get a ProDAC.
But in either case about what you meant - do not knock what you have not heard.

Childish name calling does not inspire meaningful conversation. It is the typical response of the tweako cultist. If you can't impeach the information, insult or belittle the source. I made a simple sentence. If you didn't feel guilty, you could have just let it pass, but you just could not resist. Dopamine affects the human mentality. Therefore, my comment could not have been directed at an A/V component. They don't think or get emotional

Jamrock - clearly - my post making a light joke to your userid was just a play on the prior post...having some fun due to '007's typo.
Back to my question...what was your intent in referring to dopamine? That's my serious point. Come true to your real meaning.
Meanwhile...have you tried an XSP-1 in your home? Have you heard a ProDAC? If not, why would you be poking fun at those who have? If you have not done either, you have no basis for comment.

Yes he is. And, I try to.
Thanks for the advice. As is, those who have not tried the XSP-1 or heard the ProDAC have an opinion do not have a valid opinion of either. Those of us who have...have more "skin in the game" and more valid opinions.

He can't stand that someone is actually happy with their purchase. When people are miserable, he is happy.

PS to the mod's...my friends lcseminole, hemster, and jlafrenz...please do not lock this thread. I personally promise to add no more in public to the recent comments. Please allow those who have an interest in my review and choose to inquire and respond positively and on-topic to do so. For those who take this in a direction that might lock this thread - please delete offensive posts instead of locking the thread (even if those posts are from me).
Many thanks my friends!

klinemj, it inspire me the way you like your new XSP and the way you say jaw dropping performance. It seems you don't want to go back to USP as it surpass your expectation.

I guess you have golden ear that your can hear that much of a difference because other just say slight difference. The digitally controlled analog volume maybe responsible for such resolution as well as other innovative technology that incorporate on the design.

Mark (klinemj) just for your thought "Now, you must remember, the enemy has only images and illusions behind which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the enemy."

Well said Mark. This post states nothing but truth. I find it very odd the Emotiva lounge has members who will talk negative about the performance of a piece of Emotiva gear with never having listened to it, and with zero plans to ever listen to it. No need to disparage those who have dropped down their hard earned cash, and are enjoying their new gear. I for one, am glad to see all of the positive word coming in from those who were lucky enough to be in on the first shipment. Why would any member of the Emotiva lounge want to see their forum peers upset with their new gear purchases? I do not understand why there is such a negative undercurrent, and nearly a "backlash" if anybody tries to say anything nice about their Emotiva products. Haters gonna hate...
