Saw and heard this at THE SHOW her in So. Cal. ... basically it's a minotaurized version of the new XDA 2
and sounded great!

I do look forward to seeing the difference in features/specs of this vs. the XDA-2. At Emofest (per the notes we captured per link below), the XDA-2 would be here for the holidays and the Pro-DAC was just a little behind the XDA-2 in timing. And, per the 10/3/12 podcast update, the XDA-2 is in its first production run and will be available "sometime in November". Given past "in production" to "shipping from TN", I'd say "late November" would be about what I would expect.

Are there any detail on XDA-2 and ProDAC? What is the difference between the two?

See my last comment...see the link in it. That's about as much as is known...which is "not much".

The main thing we know is that the XDA-2 is supposed to fix the lossy volume control of the XDA-1 and uses the same basic DAC chips as the XDA-1. And, I think there are other inputs on the XDA-2, but I can't recall details. As far as the XDA-2 vs. ProDAC...I've not seen much.

And get any details they will release.

I think this thing is aimed at the benchmark dac-1 HDR, and will have a similar feature set.

Well there is this unit coming for the mini series, and a matching power amp - from marks EmoFest report:

"There will be a new preamp that is small like the mini-X! It will have a built-in DAC & a USB input! No timing/cost quoted. This will be essentially like an XDA-2 in key DAC parts, but also have analog inputs (2 RCA in's). But, the overall design will be made to look like the mini-X."

I am very curious as to how these two DACs will stack up against one another. I may be wrong, but I think the Pro-DAC is supposed to be the superior version...if not in SQ, then in features (it's feature set will be more comprehensive, to include additional capabilities not necessary in a HT setup, but might be useful in a studio)...I may be wrong about all of that, so please don't take that as the "official" word guys.
