Stoked that the DC-1 is finally out - I've been staying on the XDA-1 waiting for this. Also a little bit disappointed that it does not even have a trigger out. Have to find some good solution for turnng on my hidden RPA-1 now. Rs-232 or some other automation support would also have been nice on a pro product. Would have sworn I saw this on early prototypes.

Depending on power draw, you might be able to get away with an auto sensing power strip, even if the only thing on it is a trigger input for the RPA

The Emotiva ET-3 just may be what you are looking for. It will give you 3 additional triggers to use in your system. Check it out. There is also new OPPO BDP-105, that is doing much more then just BDP. www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-105/blu-ray-BDP-105-Features.aspx
It also has USB Asynchronous DAC: "USB Asynchronous DAC – By bypassing the low fidelity, poor quality DAC of traditional computer soundcards, the BDP-105 turn any computer into a high performing multi-media source by converting digital audio to analog through the ESS Sabre32 Reference DAC. If your computer can play it, the BDP-105 can convert it to analog.""Dedicated Stereo Output with XLR Balanced Connectors - The BDP-105 features a dedicated 2-channel analog output with specially optimized ES9018 DAC and output driving stages. The stereo output offers both XLR balanced and RCA single-ended connectors. The balanced output features a true differential signal path all the way from the DAC to the 3-pin XLR connector. By transmitting a pair of differential signals, the balanced output provides better common-mode noise rejection and improves signal quality."And also support multi channel audio, with excellent DAC: "SABRE32 Reference Audio DAC - The DAC is one of the most important components for digital audio playback. The SABRE32 Reference ES9018 from ESS Technology is the world’s best performing 32-bit audio DAC solution targeted for high-end consumer applications and professional studio equipment. With the ESS patented 32-bit Hyperstream™ DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the SABRE32 Reference DAC delivers an unprecedented DNR (Dynamic Range) of up to 135dB and THD+N (Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise) of -120dB, the industry’s highest performance level that will satisfy even the most demanding audio enthusiast. The BDP-105 uses two ES9018 DAC chips - one for the 7.1-channel output, and another for the dedicated stereo output. To learn more about the technologies behind the exceptional performance of the SABRE DAC, please read the SABRE Technical White Paper."Do anyone knows how OPPO's USB Asynchronous DAC is compared with DC-1 implementation? For not much higher price OPPO features set overcome DC-1 features set (at least on paper).

I'm hoping to plug one of my Xda-1s into the analog input and compare this weekend.

Both Niles and Russound used to offer an outlet with trigger ON/OFF. Not sure if they still do but ther is always eBay.

The Russound was the ACT-1. A few suppliers still seem to have them listed. Triggered, not sensing.

Crazy price I'm in Denmark so need to find something like that for 220V and euro outlets. I don't know how such sensing strips actually works, but it seems a bit wrong to me to put electronics on the power input path to a DAC...

I wouldn't think that there would be any problems with it, inbound to the DAC. They have to filter noise out anyway. The big reason that they suggest not having it before amps is that it might limit the current.

Ok I have played music for 6 hours tonight on the DC-1. Setup DC-1, XPA100's, Tekton Lore's speakers, HTPC (Home build) via USB. Music was Alan Parsons,Pink Floyd,Boston,James Blunt,Neil Young. First thing I noted was the base, It's clean sounding, Life like, It's hard to describe. The second is the drums and cymbal's. On the XDA-2 the cymbal's are there, but on the DC-1 it's like the drummer is in my room, it's like when a cymbal is struck it just doesn't die out, the sound stay's for that extra millisecond , It's Life like. The sound stage is excellent, I'm hearing things I haven't heard before. Hey I'm one of the very few people who like the USP-1 over the XSP-1 and when I bought the DC-1, I figured I would hear no difference over my XDA-2 but I was wrong, It's almost scary, I'm not doing this justice as it's so good it's hard to put into word's. I'll hook this up to my USP-1 and XSP-1 and let you know what I think. Thanks for letting me ramble on, I'm pulling an all nighter on some more music!

That's great to hear, wiskers! While I'm sneaking in time to listen to mine here and there, I haven't gotten any really good long sessions in since last weekend. Thunderstorms keep cropping up and I keep making minor tweaks to my speaker position to get the right balance. After I get that sorted to my satisfaction, I plan to switch back in my Vincent preamp, then do some other comparisons.
I may be missing some of the midrange warmth I like, but certain things are clearer in the mix with the DC-1 (Ramones songs seem to have an unusual clarity in particular). The very low end seems more accentuated in my system as well, which I can't tell if that's good or bad. Just need more time to listen to music (a few weeks should do).

Would you say the difference is enough to warrant the double the price increase between the xda2 and the dc1?
