I started taking the data from the older thread (PDF) and putting it into Excel. The current Excel version is located here: www.dropbox.com/s/oiyyxe9rhhrx9h5/Emotiva_Amps.xlsxA Picasa album of Emotiva amps is here: www.tatzfamily.com/emotivaAny manuals and AP data I could find as well are here: docs.google.com/folder/d/0B6AqubLdykkNbzFlZ0dEQjU3YTg/editIt's not complete, but it's a good start. I welcome any and all feedback - particularly error corrections and additions. If you see the links change, it's just because I'm trying to find a location where I want to host it.. Note: If there are any copyright issues with images or manuals, please let me know and I'd be happy to remove them. I don't want to step on any toes.

Any changes that I make are available here: www.dropbox.com/s/l2klv1opflmru8l/Emotiva_Amps.xlsxIf others have corrections or comments, I'm happy to incorporate them. I also used my google-fu to start a Picasa album of pictures, so we have a reference of the old and new stuff: tinyurl.com/co639q5Nice work!

At one point and time it was my plan to go back and make new comparison charts for amps and threads. That proved to be quite difficult since the products were going through changes, waiting to be released, etc... Since that was the case, it obviously got put on the back burner.
Jim, I think it is great that you are getting this together to help out the Lounge. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

As Judd said, if we can help in any way that we're capable of helping, just let us know. This new comparison table will also definitely be stickied.

I thought I recall in casual discussion at an Emofest, that the XPA-2 was stable to 2 ohms. No so based on this chart....right?

I thought I recall in casual discussion at an Emofest, that the XPA-2 was stable to 2 ohms. No so based on this chart....right? That's EASILY possible. I based some of the rows based on the old PDF, and some on whether or not there were any specs for 2 ohm performance. I'm happy to change it -- I figure if the XPA-2 is stable @ 2ohms, the XPA-1 would be too, and likely the rest of the XPAs (similar designs).

Perhaps we could get one of the moderators or yourself to pass this along for verification by the Emo-Engineers.

Perhaps we could get one of the moderators or yourself to pass this along for verification by the Emo-Engineers. That would actually be cool - if anyone has any contact with Lonnie or one of the techs who would have time to skim through it. I have a feeling there are discrepancies in the trigger voltages too (There are easily lots of minor mistakes, given the volume of data)

Thanks very much In my bored state, I just thought that it would be cool to have idle wattage posted..... I can measure the 2 amps I have, I guess it's time to buy more amps so I can add more data to the table. ;D As much as the amps CAN draw, it's equally interesting to measure how much they are not using.

why is the upa5 have the second best snr next to all the x series amps. The only one that beats it is xpa1?

I actually just double checked the numbers against the manuals for the UPA-5 and XPA1 to make sure that I didn't make a typo. No clue how the UPA-5 manages such a high SNR! I wish I had a better understanding of what key design elements determine SNR performance (output devices selection?).

I know that a lot of the Emo amps are more capable than they are rated. But, just because they are capable, does not mean that Emotiva recommends it for various reasons. I can't remember specifically on the XPA-2. A good person to reach out to would be roadrunner and see if he knows off hand or where that information might be located. I didn't turn up anything, but will keep digging. If we don't find it, I can reach out for some clarification.

Excellent work Jim; I was thinking of something similar not long ago. I am a web developer and have some unused hosting accounts; I was wondering if a collaboration would be "in the books"? I think a website would be cool with your information nicely presented. Thoughts?

I created this just messing around - HTML-ified version of the Excel sheet. Actually looks pretty good, considering how big the Excel file is: www.tatzfamily.com/emotiva/amps.htmlWouldn't be hard to make it more pretty.
