Saw Skyfall last weekend while I was in India.
No spoiler alert: It is a very different Bond in this one! I liked Bardem as a villain. A very talented actor. M is excellent as usual. The gadgetry not so flash but a worthwhile visit to the cinema theater. (I was stuck in a monsoon downpour in the after-effects of a cyclone anyway.)
I think my favorite Bond of all time is still Sean Connery, followed by Daniel Craig.

I just saw Skyfall last night and definitely agree with Hemster in that this is not your typical Bond movie. As to not spoil it for anyone, their is a bit of a historical perspective and it definitely paves the way for future 007 movies. FYI, if you bought any of the released Bond movies, many of them had a "Hollywood Movie Money" reward coupon on the outer plastic covering. Just go to the website www.activaterewards.com/skyfall and enter the code number for $10 at your local movie theater. Once you've entered your code you can print out a ticket.

I also saw Skyfall, and must unfortunately agree with the critic in my newspaper who retitled it:
Blah - James Blah
My favorite Daniel Craig Bond movie was the first: Casino Royale

We just got back from Skyfall. Interesting movie and certainly not the typical Bond movie in so many ways!!
Although Casino Royale is still my favorite Craig movie, we thought this one was close. Lots of action, a few slow dull spots but overall a decent movie. I'd give it a 7/10.... ;D

The move of the Bond series to go darker and less gadget based seemed to coincide with the rise of Borne and makes it look like Bond is trying to catch up. Does anyone remember the old Dean Martin or James Colburn spy send ups Matt Helm and Flint? They were more Satirical homages to Bond of the time as opposed to a mirroring of Bond.

I think that the newer Bond movies have a stronger tie with the early ones than any since Connery first left. Connery versions were not as action packed as the Craig movies, but the early Bond was a more "rely on smarts and fists" than the later gadget loaded ones.

I really like Daniel Craig as Bond. The best Bond since Connery IMO. I also like the 'darker turn' this series has taken with Craig at the helm, as well as featuring more action. The music is better too, (crank up Adele's "Skyfall" at the beginning and then tell me you weren't inspired!).
Overall, (and again - IMO), the Craig movies are a *VAST* improvement over the campy & silly Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore 'stuff'...

Yeah, I hated all of the Bonds except for Connery, Lazenby, and Craig. Brosnan and Moore were just stupid and un-convincing...
