I recently purchased an XPA-2 and an XPA-5 and wonder which interconnects I should use.
I changed an old August 2001 receiver to one that uses HDMI. I was previously using Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 8 channel cables to connect my HD DVD player to the multichannel input on my old receiver. Should I use these cables for my amps, or are there other recommendations?
Thanks a lot for any help.

I would advice to get the cheapest interconnects you can find. I use the ones from radioshack. For speaker wires I use the 18 guage and thicker preferrably wire from the walmart car audio section.

Yeah, If you still have the LC-1's use them, they're great cables.

Have a look at the Emotiva cables; oh yeah... DO NOT buy the cheapest cables you can get. Or the thinnest by that matter. Just my opinion.

I think I miscommunicated - I wouldn't reccomend the thinnest or the cheapest flimsy looking thing. I found radioshack to have all the quality I would want. But the basic point is don't spend 100's of dollars on cables.

Thank you for all of your help.
I still have the LC-1 cables and am not using them for anything. I will pull them out of storage and use them for my amps.

+1 For Emotiva Cables. Very good cables at a very good price even better while they are on sale.

Right now I use Emotiva X series interconnects to include XLR.
If and when Emotiva introduces their Reference series of cables, I'll be changing them out.
I feel it's worth it and can afford them.
Bring'um on!

I've used a variety of interconnects over the years, from Radio Shack's up to the tweako brands. Despite cost differences of 10x or more, I've yet to hear (with MY ears) any significant difference. I've currently got a mix of Emotiva connects, some Kimber Kables, and maybe some others (?). Mixing & matching, I've noticed no differences.
I have noticed differences in speaker wires. There are those in this Lounge (ya there, Jam?) who say that it isn't possible to hear any differences, but my ears think that the differences are there.
Therefore, if I plan to spend any money beyond the Radio Shack level, I'd be probably putting more toward speaker wires than interconnects. The majority in the Lounge disagree with me and claim that anything other than 12-ga. extension-cord wire is a waste of money. I can't say arbitrarily that they're wrong, but I can say that my ears (at least used to) hear differences.
To get back to the OP's question, I think you'd do fine with inexpensive interconnects from Radio Shack, Monster Cable, Emotiva, or Audioquest. All are well made, properly shielded, and should provide excellent service.
Cheers - Boomzilla

However, I just stay away from any audio product with the Monster moniker. It means hyped beyond reasonableness and overpriced ;D
