True, but the body of the sound was rather dry though it did possess a lovely warm mid-range.

I usually blame myself when something goes wrong, and it's usually closer to the truth than blaming someone else. Spinal Tap goes to 11 no matter what media you use.

Well, now that I finally have them, I mostly blame FedEx. They had my toys on a truck for delivery on Wednesday, but did not complete the job until the following Monday.
I blame myself for having to change the delivery address in the first place and for relying upon email and voice messages rather than calling at a time when I could talk to a real human being.
But I do not think Emo is up to its usual standards here, either. They never notified me when they changed the address, and when they did change the address and got my request NOT TO change it, they simply hit delete without responding. A simple "Oops, too late" notice would have saved me a full day of aggravation from sitting at home waiting on what I was told was my FedEx delivery day.
And now Emo has made it a bit worse. They wrote to me on 11-26 and stated that my entire order had shipped. The balanced cable pair offered as a promo was not packed with the pre-amp. I was told by another purchaser that it would ship separately. I called today (finally I have the sense to talk to a human being!) and was told that no, the cables did not ship on 11-26, even though they said my order was complete. Instead, they are to ship this afternoon.
Now, this system is working just fine with old unbalanced cables, but their failure to notify me of this delay, and their completely unapologetic tone are not consistent with what I consider first rate customer service. That does not mean I won't buy the new pre-pro if and when it ever comes out, but it does tarnish their image for me just a tadge.

sh** happens. If that's the worst thing that's happened to you this month, I'd say you are doing pretty good.

Ah, the joys of first-world problems, eh? This is why I always double-check the shipping/billing info before clicking Submit. A few extra seconds could have avoided several days of delays. Just wait until everything is hooked up to your satisfaction. Perhaps you'll quickly forget the less-than-perfect experience and focus on the music.

The cables have shipped, and the FedEx page says they are going to my residence, not my office, just like it said last time, when they were loaded on a DC truck, but rather than delivering same, FedEx forwarded them to the distribution center for my office instead.
I wonder what it means this time? Now, of course I could call and ask, but that would ruin all the fun of puzzling this one out. I am betting DC means DC, but who knows? The system sounds just fine in its current unbalanced state.
