Hi all,
I'm trying to narrow down the sub(s) I'm considering for my HT. I was planning on getting two subs to lessen dead spots. However, I've read some subs have dual drivers in a single cabinet. What is the advantage of this? Does it eliminate the need for two separate subs? Thanks.

Hard question to answer. Depends on your room size, sub size and layout. I have a SVS PB12 Plus and I have no need for another as it rattles the pics of the walls.
For most people, one is enough. YMMV....

Dual apposing drivers eliminates box resonance and increases output , but doesn’t replace dual subs capability to even out bass response in the room and help with sum nulls etc.. but only when the two subs are placed in two different spots in the room does this work
