Movie 9.0 Video 8.5 Audio 10.0
A chartered flight full of oil field workers crashes in the Alaskan bush leaving 7 survivors. To survive, they must battle white out blizzards, freezing cold and "the grey" which is a pack of wolves intent on killing them.
This is very well acted and the cast does a credible job of portraying their character in a believable light. The interplay between them grows quite poignant as they realize their slim odds of getting to safety. Liam Neeson has the lead in this movie and does a superb job of acting as the movie progresses - as does several other cast members. This movie is really all about the acting, not fancy sound stages or great soundtracks. It's about the acting and its riveting..
The soundtrack will test your HT for dynamics like no other. From the quietest ruffle of a branch to full on madness in a millisecond throughout this soundtrack make it a true torture test for your amps and speakers. I think my XPA-1's might have given me a red dot once or twice during the movie..
I liked it a lot, YMMV
Highly recommended...

I liked "The Grey" too, even though a lot of reviewers have panned it. The plane crash scene near the beginning will indeed test your speakers and amplifiers! Just when I started reaching for the remote out of fear, it stopped to a stone cold silence - post crash. Then the "fun" begins!
The only thing I didn't like was the ending - pretty much leaving it all up to the reviewers imagination. Get it on Blu-ray, anything less and you're just cheating yourself out of a great movie experience!

Backasswards I tell ya! I really liked this movie, and it was a good test for my system in certain parts. Nice surround effects.

I liked "The Grey" too, even though a lot of reviewers have panned it. That's odd, I could not find one bad review anywhere. Every where I looked: Blu-ray.com. Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, HuffPost , NT Times was 4/5 stars or 9/10 etc...

I liked it. Very intense, interesting character interplay, and an ending that hints at more of the story.
