Went to BB today looking for a new movie or two, and its just maddening when you look at the prices for new releases. $36.00 for the "trio" of BR, DVD and Digital Copy. And the BR is always $10.00 more than the DVD. I gotta find a good rental place... Maybe even try Netflix..
I don't know about you guys, but do you even look at the DVD or Digital copy?
I have never once...
Arhhhh.....

Yea, that has never made sense to me. BB has always seemed to be $10-15 higher on their blu-rays than anyone else in the area. I can't imagine people are buying movies there when they could just go next door and get them for half price, so why do they mark them up so high?

Whats worse is I paid $29.00 for a BR there not too long ago and a few weeks later it was in the $9.99 section!!

I never look at the Digital copy.Try renting at RED BOX, BluRay movies are $1.50 and they have quite a few in my area as I reserve on Tuesday morning when the new discs are released.I just rented LOOPER this morning and it was a great Movie.

There are cheaper options like Walmart. I do find it a cash grab when some blurays are up to 10 bucks more than others.
You can probably find good deals on Amazon too. I say screw BB, if they want to gouge the customer they can deal with the fallout.

I rent at Red Box or stream via NetFlix. My issue with NetFlix is that you can't stream 5.1 signals.

Yes try Redbox that's what I use most often. Their regular price for a blu-ray disc is $1.50 and almost every weekend I get an email from them for a 50 cent discount for a rental that weekend. There are plenty of Redbox machines around here and I always select and reserve my movie online so I know the movie I want is there ready for me at the machine I go to.

If you don't need them right away, Camelcamelcamel dot com and the blu ray forum are awesome resources for tracking BD prices on Amazon.

I only buy blu rays from Best Buy when they have sales going on. For the most part I use Red Box as well. Plus, Red Box will sometimes sell used blu rays from their kiosks for $5 each. You don't get the original case but for $5 for some newer movies is a pretty nice deal. In fact, I'm kicking myself buying Brave when it first came out not too long ago - already $5 from Red Box..dagnabbit.
Oh I should probably also mention I never use the dvd or digital downloads either. I think I may have ONCE taken the dvd out of one of them and given it to someone that liked the movie. That's about it though. stop trying to make me pay for options I don't want or need.

I usually load up around Black Friday on sale Blu-ray's. Other than that I don't buy too many. I do look for used occasionally.

This Black Friday I had said that I wasn't going to buy much of anything, then Amazon,Best Buy,Walmart,Fry's,etc came up with a bunch of $3.96 deals and I went ape droppings. ;D Best Buy has some good deals online once in a while but we don't have a local store so I don't even have that option.Mostly it's Amazon for me and I have such a backlog of unwatched movies that I rarely feel the need to buy at release,I'd rather wait a while for a price drop. As to the DVD and digital copies,I never use them.

I've seen some blurays with a $50 price here but can often get them included in a "2 for $30" deal. I guess some do pay the high price but I just won't do it on principle no matter how much I want it.

I track new releases and place them in my Amazon Wish List; the price changes often and usually cheaper. Locally it seems like Target always has a new release as a price loss leader. I do like digital copy; for travel with the kids. Regular DVD? I re-gift them...

no more movie dvd for me, except for some concerts, blu ray all the way for movies. I did buy a few blu ray from best buy recently when they are on sale, but never buy from them for regular retail price

If you don't already have an account set up on eBay - get one its easy!). Then troll for Blu-rays in "Like New" condition. You'd be AMAZED at what you can pick up for under $10, including shipping! Some sellers also remove the DVD and sell the case and BD disc for less too. Some very good deals to be had if you don't insist on getting everything when it first comes out. Just 5 or 6 months later the price will be a third of the original sale price.
As to Best Buy, yeah they occasionally have some good sales, and I'll buy new then, but otherwise? Nope.

Blu-Ray? Yard sales at 0.50 to 1.00 each. Yeah, it makes for a really strange library, but the price is right...

When I finished my home theater, I made a commitment not to go out to a theater. I make very few exceptions. When there is a new release, I feel like I already waited awhile so for the special movie, I buy it.
