Check out this link, this guy made B&W 802 Reference speakers from scratch using Genuine parts from B&W.. It's sad to actually know how much of our speaker purchase is actual parts cost then labour added in.. The parts cost total for a pair of 802 Reference speakers is $2200 the rest is labour, now not sure if that per speaker or a pair.. But boy can this guy build, he's Fantastic, work of art. forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=198192Well after careful review and thanks for posting by the way this most talented gentlemen spent 6 months, $9,000 in parts built a pair of 800D speakers that would cost $18K and has an heirloom for life driven by a lot of Emotiva amps and other equipment. Most impressive and not your average DIY project. I was not expecting something of this level he even replicated the matrix bracing. You have to read through the threads to pick up on his costs and time spent. Once again thanks for posting. I am as big a B&W fan as I am Emotiva such a wonderful pairing. Art, Science and Nirvana. Here is the end product for those that might not want to wade through the nice 12 page thread. Close up on the Emotiva USP-1, XDA, ERC and has the XPA-1's Geesh, makes me want to delete my modest photos of my stock 802's.

That's so gorgeous. That's probably the best emo equipment has looked. Wow! Too bad he's limited by room for speaker placement. He deserves a big ol hall to stick that beautiful setup in.

B&W has about a 40-45% gross margin to dealers so feel free to negotiate on price a bit. Usually, 10% off should be no issue for a quality shop to do.
