well, i did it! I bought Lawrance's XPA-5 and it will be here today!! I have 2 major concerns while waitining for it well...3 actually... 1) that it will fit in my console...right now my onkyo 809 fits with about 1.5 inches to spare...i THINK the xpa will be just about flush...I dont really want to cut out holes in the back panel of my credenza.. 2) How the hell am I going to lift this thing into place?!?! haha I should be ok but it gonna be tough and.. 3) my biggest concern is I wont hear a difference between my onkyo 809 and this beast of a power source! I am using psb image B6 bookshelfs and a c5 center for my mains...with unmatched klipsch rs41 in the back. room is 17x13x8 w a 9 foot listening position I am praying it sounds so much better...right now i love the sound of my system , but it starts to get thin souding once above -9db with music...I am assuming this will change w the 250 w into 6ohms! also my speakers are only recomedned to have 150 w max. is this an issue? I will spend tonight hooking her up and tomorrow night really cranking the sound (wife works tomorrow night) Ill let you know how I make out. -B

Congrats! I heard a huge difference between my old 807 and the XPA-5. And the more you listen, the more improvements you'll discover. I think you'll be very happy if it all fits.

You will Hear with your ears "Detail that you have never heard before! the first thing you will hear is LOTS of clean sound very dynamic sound!Your lower end "bass, mid bass will Not be "muddy" you will hear the drum roll offs the bass with be tight mid bass more promounced vocals will sound more "real"Highend will not sound "shriel" unless you over drive that XPA-5 but I would bet your ears will bleed first.Injoy and let us know you Thoughts" on your new Power Amp. ;)Oh one more thing don't worry about your speakers only being rated what they are rated my LSi-15's are rated I think 200 watts but they are 4 ohms XPA-5 outputs 300 watts but it is like I said"clean" very clean power that your XPA-5 outputs.Rock on Brother and may the power of the watts be with you! Cheers!!

You are definitely gonna hear a difference. Quit worrying! Turn it up. If you don't hear a difference, which you will, then make an appointment with an ear doc!!! ;D

He's probably too busy - sitting in front of his speakers with a shite eating grin on his face. ;D Winner!!!!! So it fit no problem. Actually sits back a little from the lip. Very happy. Not as heavy as I pictured. Guess I'm a strong s o b hahah The sound is amazing and I have yet to raise it over -25 but the separation and detail is amazing! I didn't believe the hype (so I had to see for myself and get one!) and man I'm so happy I did. I can't wait to crank it tomorrow! I will report back more but so far.......HE'LL YEAH!!!!!
