I hear thru the rumor mill that the folks at Emotiva might be working on the black end trim pieces we are discussing. Good folks in Franklin! ;D
Keep voting please. ;D
(Matt, I see 3 no votes. You are supposed to vote only once! ;D ;D ;D)

Hope this happens. Got my XDA-2, and it would look so much better in my rack with black trim (but don't want to paint my originals because I want the option of putting them back on... or for re-sale).

I'm quite sure we will see the black trim pieces. We might have to be patient. ;D

I voted yes even though I don't need them myself. I figure whatever floats your boat, as long as no animals come to harm lol.

Kraemer, I'm betting you could sell a pant-load of black (or even Emo-blue - woo-hoo!!) trim pieces if you could sell them at or near Emo's prices. Perhaps Big Dan would consider sub-contracting the work to Kraemer, if Matt would be willing to do it.
I know I would buy some if he offered them. In the meantime, I'll be content with my satin-black rattle can paint job...

PS: I wonder what the black trim would look like mated to some Emo-blue hex-head mounting bolts???
Or maybe black trim with Emo-blue within the oval cut-outs. I bet that would look schweeet!!

I would also like black trim pieces for the XDA-2.

I emailed support the better part of a year ago and they had said that black trim has always been planned for everything in their lineup.
There is still no way of buying 1RU, 1.5RU and 3RU trim pieces though, obviously, so I am not sure where those plans are at.
For what it is worth, I voted, and I will say that should 1RU black trim appear on their site they would have a purchase from me in short order.

Just occurred to me that black trim pieces could be used on other manufacturer's gear to keep the look contiguous in a stack. Has anyone done this yet?

I think It's logic and normal to have this option available for all their products.

Just saw this thread and am jumping on. There definitely should be black trim pieces for all the gear. Although I don't have any emo gear yet I built a new audio rack to hold some heavy amps (XPA-5 or XPA-3) and need to replace my old receiver (Yamaha RXV-1400) with something that has HDMI. I won't buy a UMC-200, or XMC-1 for that matter, if it doesn't have the black trim. Call me vain, but I know what I like.

Definitely, even though I prefer mine naked. I just need to find some screws that are flush with the faceplate.
Honestly, I'd love it if they had silver faceplates. Marantz knew silver with pretty blue lights looked great back in the day. I wouldn't do it in my HT, but for stereo? Oh yeah!

The black trims have been promised since long by Emotiva, since the time the XDA-1 came up, but I guess that is just another thing that just does not materialize.

Ya know what Emo should really do? Sell faceplates for their products where you could submit your own graphic - have it silk-screened or printed onto the faceplate, and then get it shipped to you with the product. This IS, after all the twenty-first century!
Emotiva's current color scheme is like Henry Ford's - you can have any color you want, so long as it's black!
I know that all us "grumpy old audiophiles" as Stephen Mejias calls us maybe won't care, but my daughter (and her friends) certainly WOULD.
Lonnie - You listening, dude? PAY ATTENTION!!!

I really would like to have these for the RPA-2, XSP-1 and XDA-2. This seems like a very easy accessory to get made. I hope they come up with them soon.
