As LCS wrote, Multi-PCM sounds every bit as good as the other lossless codecs. And I really don't hear all the "problems" that some audiophiles complain about with plain old lossy DTS. I *do* hear a quality difference between DTS and Dolby Digital - to my ears DTS sounds much better.
Also, as LCS pointed out, the newer PS3s are very capable Bluray and DVD players. If they would simply enable support for more of the most popular storage containers (FLAC, MKV, etc.) and add network streaming support, they would have a viable competitor for the Oppo players...

..... xpa-5 ..... I still get excited just looking at it ..... Hey, none of that filthy, man/machine fetish, alternative sex talk here. This is a family forum. When I find myself getting tempted, I just look away from my XPA-5 until little Chuckienut cools down! ;D PS: Oh OK, I must admit, when the XPA-5 arrived I did sleep with it the first night. One of those Sleep Number beds would have helped. My wife had to sleep in the guest room and my girlfriend on the couch.
