SR-8100 Arrived today! Haven't even opened the box yet, as I'm still at work. Will hopefully have more info later in the week.
This is my first Emotiva product, so I'm gathering all the strength I can to not race home and hook this baby up!

Where on the remote is the "Last Video" function? I did not see it addressed in the manual. Thanks!

Where on the remote is the "Last Video" function? I did not see it addressed in the manual. Thanks! Called Emotiva and got my answer. In case anyone else wants to know the answer: Let's say you're watching cable TV via HDMI, now got to menu and select Input, scroll down and now select the input you want that does not have any video connection. In my case I've assigned Optical 1 to my AppleTV. Tonight I watched some baseball and switched on music via my AppleTV. Awesome! Here's a new question: When will Harmony remotes get the codes for the SR-8100? I see that Sherbourn has posted the codes in an Excel spreadsheet, but I have no clue how to use these.

Their video reviews are typically very short and do not include much real "info" I would agree they are really glorified previews.
Hopefully they'll do a proper written review too as Audioholics tends to do quite a few measurements when reviewing products.

I was at the Boston show yesterday and I had the pleasure of listening to it with Big Dan sitting right next to me. I was astonished with how well it performed. It was setup with XRC-5.2 center/towers and two XRC-4.1. Which I will also add are INCREDIBLE small sized speakers. The combo of the two makes me want to sell my current equipment. I could not get over how well it sounded. Also with that system was a small prototype sub that was AWESOME. The built in bluetooth sounds amazing. I know I sound like a 12 year old with these generic remarks but it had me all giddy. No system at that price point has any right sounding so good .

I checked with EMO at the event in Boston yesterday and the 40% off would go against the $899 price so it doesn't save you much. Buying the 8100 at $599 enrolls you in the 25% off for life too.

Wow, so you're saying the SR-8100 qualifies you for the upgrade program? I thought it was only the processors, nice!

I could not get over how well it sounded. I just built a 7.1 system for a friend with an: SR-8100, (2) XRM-6.1, XRC 5.2, (4) XRM 4.1, (2) SVS SB-1000, Sony BRP, & ATV. It sounds very good and during the sale all came in around $2500, she's very happy with the system.

I'm seriously considering selling my current equipment as after hearing this demo set I feel that I have over payed for my equipment. The exception being my XPA-5, which is awesome though I am currently not using.

I will also comment that the protype 12" sub they had setup sounded fabulous especially when you consider how large the room was. I also like the 4.1 speakers as they were excellent given their size.

My Sherbourn SR-8100 was deliverd yesterday to me in the Netherlands ! Glad i did not have to pay extra tax so that worked fine ! Hooked it up to my GLE 490.2 speakers and played some stereo. It sounds good. Though i think i am missing some fullness i had with my old Kenwood 3030R stereo amp. I always like to play my music bass heavy. But there is no simmple bass knob i can turn to the right to add some extra bass quickly :-) Or is there ? I saw the EQ options but can i just set 3 frequencies in the lower regeion to +3 DB and set the Q high ass well to open up the band ? Maybe someone got a golden tip for me.
And does the automatic room correction also adjust the EQ ? Or does it just measures the distance and output of the speakers itself ? And has anyone tried the bluetooth audo as well ? When i was streaming a podcast from my Iphone 4s it worked fast but the sound isnt that good, when i hear the people talking on the podcast i get a loud chirp trough my speakers, also it stutterd quite a bit.

That is interesting on the bluetooth audio, I heard it at the show in Boston and it sounded great. My friend I was with has an iPhone 5 and I didn't notice anything as far as loud chirps. I noticed there were bass adjustments in the menus when they were showing it off, but I couldn't tell ya how to get to it .

Yes i think that is with an subwoofer active in the system, i dont have a subwoofer yet. If i need to manually set every frequency it would take ages, instead of just boost the bass.
But i now have a really annoying problem. I tried to get the sound from my HTPC working, before i had it connected to the stereo amp with jack to RCA cable. No problems whatsoever. Now i have it connected to the receiver trough HDMI > Receiver > TV. But when i went into sound manager i had 2 HDMI selction there but it would let me activate it because it said nothing was connected. So i went on to the Intel website to check for drivers. And the HD3000 graphics driver was outdated. Downloaded the newest version and when i had to reboot the SR-8100 was located straight away ! So i thought i had that in the pocket but then i noticed a weird sound like a channel that opens en closes in 1 sec kind off like a beep trough the speakers every 3 seconds, when i put volume of SR-8100 down to 0 its gone but when i give it more volume the sound stays te same volume. Anyone got any ideas ?

any actual best tests of the SR8100 with a 6ohm or 4ohm load? My speakers are 6 ohm and Emotiva doesn't post any specs about this receiver other than "80x7 all channels driven". The 450VA power supply is a little small to support 80x7 so I doubt lower impedance loads will measure any higher than 8ohm. It would be nice to know as I bought two and don't want to open the second one for my living room setup if its not a good match.

I would like to know this too ! And what happens if we only use 5 channels (like i do) will it compensate the other channels or does it go to those 2 other channels that are not connected ?
My Cantons are known for dipping into the 3 ohm region. I heard my rear channels (Canton 430.2) Clipping the last time when i pulled the volume wide open and i thought it was on stereo but it was on ALL stereo. dont hear any weird sound out of them but still, wasnt pretty.

How much power is available in 4 ohms? Wondering if it would power a set of Magnepan MMG (or the Super MMG version). Thanks.
