I can't believe there isn't a thread yet here discussing the new trailer? Perhaps there is one and I missed it? Thoughts? Lando's son? Leia's daughter? Han flying the Falcon? My 2 cents......Don’t know if any of you have a TV watching service on your computer or on your TV, but these 2 episodes of Criminal Minds are a must watch to see Mark Hamill. It was while watching these episodes that I told my wife that Mark Hamill was selling himself to be in the new movie, and not just to be in the movie, but to be a member of the dark side. When I first saw the new trailer over Thanksgiving I immediately thought the guy with the new lightsaber was Luke. If you’ll watch these 2 shows you’ll see why I think it is. Mark Hamill is VERY convincing in these 2 shows. And according to my huge Star Wars fan at work, my original hunch is in fact the big rumor floating around the Star Wars internet pages right now. Criminal Minds - Season #8, CBSEpisode #23 (Part 1), Brothers Hotchner Episode #24 (Part 2), Replicator

"Luke" has gone to the Dark Side (and back) in the Dark Horse comics. These, as well as other stories in the EU, were based on Lucas' plot points he had sketched out after ROTJ. Episode VII is supposed to ignore everything in the EU and start anew. But, that's where the rumors are likely coming from.

Star Wars “A New Hope” came out May 1977. I was 18 yrs old and went up to a little one screen movie theater looking for a couple hours of fantasy. This would have been the movie poster I saw. I remember saying too myself looking at the poster that this will be another one of those cheap Sci-Fi movies and back then it was cheap entertainment and a big butter popcorn and coke will make it ok no matter what it is. I walked out of that theater in shock. Literally in shock. I could have used a couple ROCHE VALIUM 5's or a Quaalude or something. If I remember right George Lucas did not advertise or show previews of the next two movies. I miss those days. The original Star Wars and Lord of the Rings are like my favorite fantasy worlds and life for me would not same if they had never been made. I did not think all that well of the follow up movies that George Lucas made and thought his need to tell the back stories no matter what chapter numbers the original's were given was not very wise. I did not dislike them but they were way too this or that in so many ways that it is hard to explain. It was like the movies went from warm analog to digital overkill. I am going to try and stay away from a lot of info and just have “A New Hope” that they get it right. Star Wars deserves that ! I hope they don't try to just blow everyone's mind with special effects. There needs to be a good story. A story that tells what happen after Return of the Jedi and then take us to a new place.

I'm so physicked to see these for sure, I would like to take my 4.5 daughter but I doubt it's appropriate for her to watch nor her Mommy would let me take her.

I will not be supporting Disney's new franchise. I guess I look at it the opposite. If I were to not support something it would be George. He's the one who sold it. Disney will market it to the max I'm sure, but at least Disney has their own sort of class in which they usually do things. Hopefully it will treated with a bit of dignity. I like all the movies. Actually, there's part of me that likes 1-2-3 better than 4-5-6, and those WERE my childhood movies. I was 7, 10 and 13 when I saw them. They were my life. But I for one like they way 1-2-3 went down. I would make one huge change to 3, but that's about it.

I still have my original program (back when they sold things like this at the theater). Funny how collectors value stuff. I would think this would command a higher price. [Mine won't be worth anything because I 100% scratched out C-3PO's face with a ball point pen. I am always amused when I hear people *bleep* and moan about Jar Jar Binks. I hated C-3PO when I was 7 years old, and I still find him by far and away the most annoying character in the series. Don't hate him anymore, just find him seriously annoying.]www.amazon.com/Science-Fiction-Original-Color-Program/dp/B000JD7CG8Found a better picture of one online also.

I remember seeing it. At the time I had an old cranky vcr and an old tape of it was and it was more than a decade since it go released. Something about that old vcr blurry quality and those amazing scenes. The one I most remember is when this droid shot lazers to train Luke. I was like, how are they doing that? The light sabers looked very blurry but also looked real in a sort of ways. I couldn't really understand what anybody was saying but I knew I'd never seen anything like it. Then empire strikes back came and was amazing. The ice planet scene with the giant walkers was very scary for me and ominous. Because you couldn't destroy them! When darth vader Then came episode I to III which was so very awful. It was meant to be all about darth vader, but instead we got none of what we loved that was darth vader and instead got some emo kid with a ponytail, terrible fake looking cgi that was way too clean and just bad bad bad! Now I have some faith with JJ abrams to put the magic back in there. He knows how to do ... a SHOW.

I was five turning six when his came out. My parents took me. I remember vividly the opening scene in the movie theater.
I hope that the next three movies are worthy of the original series. ( not the abomination that they have become since, Greedo shoots first... Seriously??).
