Yep, I was looking at it so it can signal trigger too. its something I set when I installed it like 6-7 yrs ago and have not had a reason to change it. But now I will get the chance to strip it all down and start clean again.
Also, are you bi wiring your R&L fronts? I have been and I am thinking now that maybe I will just bridge the tweeters and woofers, and save to channels of my 7 as spares for the future.

I run my front L&R off of an xpr-2 but yes I bi-wire those and my center channel. I get the idea you were bi-amping yours, were you going to separate modules for the tweeters and woofers ?

I have a 5.1 setup and using the other 2 channels to Bi wire the fronts. If I only use 5 channels in the new setup then I save 2 modules as spares.

I would try it both ways to see which sounds better. There are arguments to be made from either side of that fence but in the end it would be you who made the decision. I have my center and 4 surrounds connected to mine so I too have 2 spare modules that I've been planning to use for a second zone or something along those lines.

Ordered this am, so will have it hopefully by Saturday or Monday. I was not able to get a trigger cable with a phoenix connector as you did when I called tech support. I was told to cut off one end and use the ground as the - and ohm out the tip as the positive. I was VERY tempted to order a new XPA 5, apparently there is holiday pricing starting today at 899, but since my MPS 1 works great I am just going to keep it I think but may change my mind before 1PM CT!
Put up my DMC 1 for sale last night too. Also going to order a new DVD playwe, time to get the new OPPO 103 I think from Amazon.

I am considering replacing my Proceed AVP with the 7030. I am wanting to move into a quality piece with HDMI capabilities. Do you think this would be a good move?

Yes, this would be a good move and a clear upgrade. Nothing against the AVP, as they were stellar back in the day, but we've come a long way and the PT-7030 will take your old prepro to school.

I loved the Proceed stack back in the day...the AVP/Amp5 combo neatly split the difference between the high-end Japanese AVR's and a full-on McIntosh combo (MX-132/MC-7205). It looked the part as well.

"Back in the day" the Proceed AVP was my dream. Thanks for the opinion Andrew. I love my PT-7030.

I have everything ordered including new cables for F,C,R. Just got the OPPO 103D, waiting on all new HDMI cables, Mic, Speaker Cables and of course the 7030 which is coming Saturday. After talking more with Andrew, I decided to not bi amp the F&R channels, and I will now just keep my MPS-1, and stop using 2 channels of the 7 channel amp and save the cards as spares for now. I do not have a 7.1 setup as I do not have the room.
Hopefully I will tear it all down Sat, and have all the new stuff up and running sometime Sunday.
Hopefully then watch a Movie!

Has anyone else noticed a drastic reduction in their subwoofer output after switching to this processor from the umc-1 ?

I just finished replacing my UMC-1 with the PT-7030. After going through the basic set up (I am not using the PEQ - perhaps later), here's what I don't like. 1) The remote is terrible in its layout - very unconventional. 2) You cannot set up the PT-7030 without the remote. 3) Its legacy inputs are only composite and component - no S-Video. As a result, my laserdisc player does not look as good on the screen. 4) My Kinetics iPad dongle does not have codes for Sherbourn, so I will have to do all the button programing myself - very time consuming.
It does sound good and all 7.1 channels are working. I used the unbalanced outputs to the PA7-350 because the new balanced cables I ordered from Monoprice have not arrived. When they arrive I will be rewiring again. By the way, I used the Emotiva 7-RCA cable to wire from my OPPO BDP-83 analog outs to the PT-7030 analog ins. This cable is very nice and marked well for each of the 7.1 functions at both ends.

Can anybody tell me how to pair the Blue Tooth dongle with an iPAD. The set up wants a 'PIN'# - is that the FCC I.D. # ? If so, the set up doesn't like it. So what the blank IS the pin # and where do I find it?

Ok Ignore the above. While I was typing the question above, the display changed (it sure took a long time) and told me to enter 0000 as the pin#. I am able to play music stored on my iPAD now.

I like to indulge in a little "rap crap" every now and then and the boom is gone so figured I'd ask.

There are a bunch of buttons on the remote that aren't accounted for in the manual. Most of them don't do anything. Was this intended to work with a cable box of some brand (maybe Motorola - is that what the 'M' is for?
