Anyone else?

Despite the alternate ending, I thought watchmen couldn't have been done better. The mars scene where Dr Manh trasnports there and the opening scene had so much perfection to it. So, I'm glad Zach snyder is at the helm of this movie. But I am a little worried. Zod was way too cheesy in the old movie for me. And I don't like supermen fighting supermen while flying fight scenes. Breaks the illusion. The less flying while fighting they do the better.

I enjoyed watchman and thought it was spot on to the comic book. (yes even despite the alternate ending) MoS is a must see for me. I'm starting to read that the 3D isn't worth paying extra for. Hard thing is to find a non-3D showing with a good screen and sound where I live. Non-3D IMAX anyone?

Call me old-school if you must, but I thought that Christopher Reeve was the ultimate Superman. He had the *perfect* look; incredible good looks, boyish charm, the little hair thingie going on above his eyebrow, and the perfect body and stature. This new guy looks like Spartacus - too whip-cord thin, not big enough, 3-day beard stubble. Superman is clean-shaven, for Pete's sake! And what the heck is going on with that padded, leather-like suit? Superman *demands* a Spandex suit. Padded suits work okay for Batman, not Superman.
And Michael Keaton was the perfect Batman, BTW...
-RW- Gonna wait for the Bluray.

Agree on Reeve being the best Superman. However Adam West was a better Batman than Keaton, IMHO.
That 3-day beard stubble is so pervasive nowadays - everywhere I see actors with that bum-fluff on their faces.. I best the next James Bond will be stubbled.. I mean a hursuit look suits Godzilla but whatever happened to the slick, suave and sophisticated look actors used to sport?

(I know that Chuck Norris beats his face with a hammer, and chews the whiskers off from the inside.)

Henry Cavill has been measured against Christopher Reeves, and no doubt that will intensify after more folks see the movie. Going in with preconceived notions and expectations is a sure way to be disappointed. Personally, I want to give Mr. Cavill the opportunity to step into some big shoes. It wouldn't be the first time a new actor/actress has won me over (e.g. Daniel Craig as 007).

Ah yes THE original Superman. I remember the TV shows fondly.
I also remember the cartoons although when I was born they were then already 20 years old.

The original superman seems kinda crude when you look at it today, but as a kid in the late '50s it was awesome in front of the massive 19" Philco.

I am more of a Spider-Man kind of guy. But, this movie looks inviting and the previews look good. Plus, you can't go wrong with Amy Adams. C

Give it a look without reading too much, seeing too much, or expecting too much ... you might like it.

The story lines are what I was referring to. The old animation is wonderful. None the less, worth a nostalgic view! Some don't realize that if you were a Sci-Fi fan in the '50s and very early '60s, there was next to nothing to watch on TV. My local station ran a series called "Rocky Jones - Space Ranger" When I saw this a few years ago, I had a whole new appreciation for the character Vena Ray - Center.

Right, the original Superman TV show was a rare bird in a sea of westerns, of course there was Twilight Zone (which was more than Sci-Fi), and then Outer Limits. The mid-late 60s had much more which (though mostly hokey) were certainly welcome, seems like we're still comparing to many from back then.

'63 was a great year as Outer Limits came to TV along with on the lighter side My Favorite Martian!

And don't forget The World Beyond, another sci-fi show from the early-mid 60s...

Are you sure The World Beyond was from the 60's? I don't remember that show at all.
I liked The Twilight Zone, but The Outer Limits would scare the crap out of me at times.
Even though I grew up watching George Reeves, I think Christopher Reeve was the best Superman. Bud Collyer was the ultimate Superman voice.
