of course tubs are going to sound different then Emo gear what's wrong with saying that here , some people prefer the tub sound nothing wrong with that ether . Like I said with my speakers, this integrated amp matches up much better than the XPA-2/USP-1. If I had different speakers, maybe it would be the other way around. I still think both are outstanding pieces of gear. And that is what this hobby is about, at least to me, finding the best match. Some of us get lucky, and some can never get there for got to say nice looking gear you have there and I bet it does sound sweet Thanks, I can't wait until I get home everyday and fire it up, absolutely love it

Hi Villock,
Frist thing I'd like to say is I think your Yaqin MC30L is a beauty. This is the kind of tube gear I was hoping Bob Carver would develop for Emotiva. The price point is good for a 50 watt a channel tube integrated with a remote. I've seen it on Audiogon for $550. I'm in the market for a tube integrated and I've been waiting to see what Emotiva is going to do. I would love to have a Carver Black Magic 20. But my reality is the 50 watts a channel Yaqin MC30L at one third the price of the Carver is much more affordable for me and will probably be my next tube equipment purchase.
I would also love to have a Emotiva XPA-2 power amp with an entry level Emotiva tube pre-amp I'm still waiting to see what they come up with. I was thinking about purchasing bookshelf speakers and stands next month. It just might be the Yaqin MC30L instead. Thanks for your post.

That yaqin sure is sexy looking. The JJ Blue Glass tubes are quite good IME too. I have a Jolida amp and I put in JJ KT88 Blue tubes and the tones are clean but the bass could be a bit "thick sounding". This was a comparison with Penta Labs KT88 tubes. In the preamp section I had JJ 5751s and Mullard re-issue 12AT7s in place.
As for phono stages I would also stay away from Yaqin MS22B phono preamp. I tried it and with a couple of different 12AX7 tubes and no matter what the sound was meh to me. Have you tried hooking the USP-1 into the MC30L? A couple of local audio vets by me preferred the phono preamp section of the USP-1 to the Pro-Ject tube box in a head to head comparison.
