We used the Bowers & Wilkins at THE Show in Newport Beach, CA because I recommended them to Dan. I also thought that because so many folks were more familiar with Bowers & Wilkins that it would give them a better point of reference rather than go with something too esoteric or in-house. At the end of the show Dan was so taken aback by the Bowers & Wilkins speakers that he purchased them outright from the manufacturer for use at Emotiva's offices. I was curious if he'd bring them to Boston. I'm glad to see/read that he did. They are terrific loudspeakers if I do say so myself. Good choice. The B&W 804d is an excellent speaker and one that I'm also considering in the future. It easily bested the Triton 2 and Gallo 3.5's when I compared the 3 side by side.

Really disapointing for Emo to not have added locking XLRs to the next gen XPA's... Regards, HTinP Totally agree - I dreamt of Emotiva upgrading the excisting XPA-line to have the same locking as the XPA-1L got. At least good to see "tiffany-style" rca's!

Those FST kevlar driver, rock solid enclosure and diamond tweeter really bring music close to live performance.

Lonnie needs to chime in on this thread and give us the real scoop. (or better yet start an official XPA v2 products thread. )

Though we only saw the 2 and 5...Dan said the whole Gen 2 line would look like these. I never had a problem with the silver trim, but seeing the new black trim pieces, I admit to liking them more. Soon Kraemer Design is going to have to go back to the CAD cutting room drawing board. I'm speculating here, but wouldn't the black trim look sweet on the XMC-1? (Sorry about the PQ. The rooms were so darkly lit, just to frustrate for the press no doubt...)

I just want to see the XMC-1 sitting pretty with the rest of my Emotiva gear.

But i guess Emotiva will have to change the look of the XSP-1, XDA-2 and the new ERC-3 aswell? If you want to buy a clean stereo-setup, you must have the possibility to choose the same design on all components

Uh oh, you're gonna be hearing from RLW on that last sentence. Oh I know. Lol. Maybe RLW should upgrade to some Selahs. I think the gen 2 upgrade with few changes in appearance was a great idea by Emotiva. People can simply add the new trim to the gen 1 for it to match. I wonder if the power buttons could easily be swapped ? I use to put black electrical tape over mine.

Or how about having the old trim available for changing X__G2 to match X--G1. Actually I'm not too happy that any new Emotiva stuff that I buy will not match the old. I have a considerable investment in Emotiva products and I feel that changes like this are fickle and rather abandoning of the faithful past customers. Decorative features like this never, read me NEVER, please everyone. Best to stick with an 'mo' like McIntosh has through the years.

I hate to tell you this, but there's a kind of family resemblance in the McIntoshes shown above even though some are receiver, some tuner, and some power modules and the time span is multi decades.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Back in the 70s McIntosh changed their knobs from a round solid brass tent shape, to a cylinder with a black center; the brass side pieces also changed from a slight wedge shape to a straight front. I sold a newer MC-2205 to a customer with other older Mac gear, when he got it hooked up his wife exclaimed "but Werner ... They don't match !!!". Talk about WAF, he had to bring the amp back because she didn't like the looks.
