I picked one of these up because I needed another amp and this little gem has intrigued me since I saw it. The price is great and the same as the mini-x on sale. It is hard to do a direct comparison to my upa-200 because of the different speaker connection. I have only just gotten the pa2-50, but I think that it is a tad more refined than my upa-200. Specifically bass seems a little more tuneful. Very minor difference to my ears, but I love my upa-200, so the PA2-50 for less than $200 is a steal. I tried it direct from my DAC and just as an amp on my USP-1. Sounds great either way.
I would recommend this to anyone that wanted a small system. I would say that it is more than capable to drive bookshelf speakers to very loud levels.
For those that aren't familiar it is a mini-x with 2 inputs, remote control, rs232 control and two sets of speaker outputs. The speaker outputs are Phoenix style connectors not binding posts. Also the remote is very small and thin, not like the metal tanks that the Emotiva remotes are. It is very functional though.

I picked one of these up here: www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/SHRBNPA250/SHERBOURN-PA-2-50-Stereo-Flex-Amplifier/1.html a couple of weeks ago. I'm surprised that I haven't seen much about this little amp on this forum. I've got it paired up with my Emotiva ERM-1 bookshelf speakers using a Grace Audio internet wireless radio tuned to Pandora etc. This combo will likely find its way to the garage in the near future but for now I'm enjoying it in the back bedroom setup. I've been using the Mini-X amp in the master bedroom with my trusty old Onkyo P-301 stereo preamp and it sounds very good pushing a pair of recapped Harman Kardon HK-20 speakers dated from 1967. These small amps are real gems. For the same money as the Mini the PA-2-50 is the better deal IMO. 10 years of warranty - same power - 2 sources and auto detect/auto switching to the active source - and auto power off like the Mini. AND a remote. These little amps will push most speakers to high enough SPL to satisfy most of us at normal listening levels. I used the Mini to drive my ERTs for a couple of weeks. Did a great job too.

I just ordered one too. I bought a Lepai Class D amp with integrated BT PAN and I think the Sherhbourn with a spare Logitech BT adaptor will sound better for a couple bucks more. The Sherbourn is bigger and heavier though....but it least it has a remote control too. The Lepai didn't sound very clean when cranked up and using the iPhone volume to control things.

You guys talked me into it I just ordered the p2-50 for a living room setup I have recently put together. I have a xpa-2 running some emo 6.2s but it is way more amp then I need for this set up. I hope to use this amp with some small DAC and a minidsp for bass management. This should give me a very compact system that will sound very good for not much money.

Thanks for the link. I have some connectors that I rigged for my old Dared dv6c that I plan on using. When I saw they were almost sold out I had to get one. It really seems to have a lot more going for it then the mini x for less money.

Sitting here listening and man this is a steal. I keep waiting for the police to show up and let me know that acc4less is pressing charges because I stole this amp from them. I turned one of the extra speaker outputs into a variable output for the sub with a line level convertor from partsexpress now I just need to add a Minidsp and I will use it to run the whole show.

It is a great little amp. The only thing to complain about is the speaker connection terminals. I really don't like them, but the amp rocks. I use mine just as a amp for now, but have considered ditching the usp-1 and getting an external phono amp. The 2 inputs serve 98% of my needs.

Brubacca I see you have the upa-200 as well and I have tried that amp in my set up and really like the pa2-50 better. It just brings more to the table for less money. I would also like to tell you that I think I have the stuff to make more of the speaker adaptors if you would like a set I could make them for you. I am always up for helping a fellow p2-50 lover and your reviews of it helped me pull the trigger.

I appreciate the offer, but it is not necessary. I am good with the Monster Adapters. I had considered making very similar jumpers to the ones you did.
I have gone back and forth a couple times with the upa-200, but the PA2-50 is the better sounding amp to my ears.
I hope that the mini-x gen 2 has the two inputs like the pa2-50. I think that Emotiva would sell a pile of them in this configuration.
