You can use an adapter unless you are running house parties 24/7

Has anyone measured the worst case (4 ohm load) IN-RUSH CURRENT on the XPR-5? I know it will run on 15 Amps (My speakers are rated at 100 Watts). I need to keep my system down to two boxes (Wife acceptability) and on turn on if all the lights in the Condo dimmed I would never hear the end of it from my wife. My calculations show that I "want" at least 5 watts class A. (The best sounding amp I have hear so far for my speakers is the Parasound Halo series). The size and weight are a bit of an issue but it can be managed. It is current draw that I fear and especially the inrush current as there is no way to up this to a 20 amp circuit, yet the Panasonic Plasma Display and Processor all have to be on this same circuit. This system will never be run loud as it is to be used in a condo.

Emotiva amps - at least the UPA and XPA lines have a slow turn on feature where it doesn't take a huge amount of current all at once. There's a guy that runs multiple XPR-1's and his TV and some other equipment all on the same circuit
