Well I've seen IT speakers that sell for 3 or 4K and people say they are a bargain because if they would sell at regular retail they will cost 8 or 10K. Does that implies when you buy a speaker through a dealer you pay 3K for a pair of speakers that are only worth 1K?

Depends on what you consider worth. Do expensive finishes add to the worth of a speaker or take away money from better parts etc. What about onsite returns and a place to audition your speakers?

I built a single 18" sub for $700 that performs about 90% as well as the Triad. If money were no object, and I was lazy, I'd probably buy the Triad. Here is an extremely good resource for Subwoofer testing that is independent and accurate: www.data-bass.com/home...

I have not heard the Triax but the people who run Power Sound are really trustworthy and are excellent designers. I'd expect any published specs they put out to be very much on the conservative side, and their prices to be extremely reasonable...

Yeah tom V. is one of the owners at PSA. that V is the V in SVS subs.. for the money maybe a pair of xv 30 is some better value.. or 4 xv 15s.... they do get alot of good comments on there subs.. cheers

That price is not that bad really. I'm sure they are using a speakerpower amp which are $1200 retail to begin with. They copied the Paradigm sub 1 and 2's design but I'm sure there were other subs with that design on the market at some point. It looks to perform better based on it's specs vs actual sub 2 tested specs but the paradigm has a MUCH nicer cab but at $4000 more, I should hope so! lol. I'd love to hear that in person but at it's price point, it's in some tough, well tested and solid performing subs. JTR cap, OS, seaton Caps. etc.
