Business must be terrible for Sherbourn..... Hmmm.. Don't be surprised if Sherbourn goes away soon..... Business is NOT bad for Sherbourn, we're merging Sherbourn and Emotiva under one brand -Emotiva -in order to avoid market confusion. It says nothing about the quality of Sherbourn or the success or failure of its business practices. It's just a business move to simplify our overall company message. In the meantime enjoy your Sherbourn savings!

These two brands are essentially competing with each other which serves no good purpose. With CEDIA almost DOA, there is nowhere to go with this product other than B&M (not happening) or absorb it into Emotiva. I think its a great product, I have the SR-120 and it's a fine piece of gear. It was only a matter of time for this to happen. I feel bad because this wasn't the original plan.

I love it.
We do what our customers keep asking to do, and from this it means that business must terrible? Far from it.
The glass is not always half empty.
We have a finite amount of time and energy. Managing and developing products for two closely related lines is a waste of resources and energy. We're broadening the Emotiva line to cover the custom integration needs of our customers instead of supporting a second line that is essentially a parallel company. There is no real need for Sherbourn if we are honest with ourselves, as Emotiva can do it as we'll or better, and has much stronger brand base.
Sherbourn will be merged into Emotiva and then be re-launched in a different product category altogether in the future.
I believe this move reflects the desires of our customers and improves the focus of our business moving forward. This is going to be a good thing for everyone involved.
In the interim, it's a great time to STEAL some fantastic gear!!
Have fun! Big Dan

I about fell out of my chair when I saw that. I couldn't run to the bedroom fast enough to grab my wallet. That is an absurd deal and anyone who thinks different is probably certifiable! Glad I stopped by the site today. Thanks Dan!

It was only a matter of time for this to happen. I feel bad because this wasn't the original plan. I took offense -if you want to call it that -to your assertion that business was "bad," which simply isn't true. Since acquiring Sherbourn business, as it directly relates to the brand has been up -way up. Now, the market that Sherbourn may be best known in, CEDIA, may be down and as a result Sherbourn's sales may not be equal to that of say Emotiva; but for a CEDIA-oriented brand and for Sherbourn historically sales have been excellent. Now, your point about Emotiva owning two brands that essentially compete with one another is more in line with the decision to simply merge the product lines, which is the reason Dan gave in the Podcast.

And by the way, the reason we dropped the prices so radically was to reduce the time all we spend in "limbo".
Out customers have supported us for the last 10 years and we felt this was a great way to give back a little, instead of trying to extract every last dime from you guys.
Cheers, Big Dan

Cheers, Big Dan Dan that is why I continue to buy Emotiva products. Great performance, great value, and great customer service. It is a rare thing to find these days and I appreciate it. You have a customer for life.

Once again a reason why I will only buy Emotiva as long as you guys stick around!

A 7 channel, 350w/amp for only $1000? That my friends is a STEAL! I predict that they'll be fresh out of 7-350's in under two weeks! Wow, anyway, I'll happily pick up an XPR-2 someday to round out my HT into a 7.2 system, but might have gone with the 7-350 if this deal had come along earlier. But I can hear it now: Her: "What's that?, Another amplifier in the house?" Me: "Yup, isn't it absolutely SWEET looking?!" Her: "Its so big!, we can't fit another!" Me: "Watch me!"

This is the best deal I have ever seen with Emotiva and I have been here since the start. I wish that it hadn't happened now since I have a vacation and car repairs that have eaten my fun money. You would have to spend so much more money to get this kind of amp. I have to go see if I can sell my wife and kid to get some quick cash.

I just bought it, but am a bit confused about the gain on the amp. The site says it is 29db, but the lab tests say 34db? I was hoping to get a lower gain amp, not higher then my xpa-5. Anyone know the actual gain on this amp?

Insane deal! I totally get merging the two brands to stop confusion, presumably people in the installer market will have little trouble adjusting to ordering from emotiva rather than sherbourn Getting the redundancy out of the product line makes lots of sense too. And everyone benefits.

If I didn't already have the XPR-2 and XPR-5, the Sherbourn PA7-350 would've been a no-brainer!!! If you are in the market for a great power amplifier, I can't recommend this Class H beast of a power amplifier enough!!! I personally think Big Dan has temporarily lost his mind and if you don't take advantage of his momentary lapse of reasoning on this "DEAL OF THE CENTURY" @ $999 then you'll be kicking yourself in the very near future! Get it and any of their other products at these sale prices!

the price on this amp is beyond absurd. for those thinking of a multi-channel amp, this is a no brainer. run.....don't walk to your nearest pc or phone and order this amp. it would be criminal not to.
