I find it ironic that hardly any members owned any sherbourn products and all of a sudden they are a great product and people are fighting for them. Couple months ago I ask for opinions on the pa-250 and everybody unanimously said the the emotiva is better. It was the first thing to sell out? Price sure does change people's opinions.... Well I've been posting good words about the 7030 I purchased. I thought I got a good deal using my 40% card to get it but now it's even cheaper with this sale. If you don't need room EQ, it's a great unit.. and I don't need room EQ.

I was trying to find a way to not afford this as I recently upgraded my TV and just came back from an expensive vacation. Thankfully, all you folks that jumped the gun just decided for me. I just refreshed the PA 7-350 page and it now says, "Sorry, this product is unavailable." I'm sad but relieved all at the same time. *whew* I know the feeling. They had 63 left when I called at lunchtime today.....wheeew!

My will power resides in NOT making that call, even just to check stock lol.

I don't really remember anyone saying sherbourn was bad in any way, just more expensive. Personally I wanted to try a XPR amp and with the $999 price, I'd be crazy not to! I'm also looking forward to trying out the PRE-1 as I've never had a 2 channel processor before, since I rarely listen to 2 channel. I was VERY tempted to grab the 8100 for my bedroom but I can get really crazy deals on most big box receivers at any time, so I passed.
Congrats to anyone that got some gear during the sale!

Quick question, does it come with standard power cable as well ? I do not have 20A circuit in my basement, just the regular power outlet Unless you are running your amplifiers under test conditions a dedicated 15 amp outlet will be just fine! Get the Furman adaptor or the CMX-6 and enjoy! Cheers, Big Dan

The guy said they would probably last several days.....NOT!!! My credit card payoff posts tonight at 12am and gets zeroed out. I told myself that if they were still available tomorrow then Sherbourn it is! But alas....I quietly weep...snif snif. Missing this purchase will be one of my regrets on my death bed! Now the only thing to do is head to the liquor store to ease the pain lol

I got one too! Do I need it probably not. I have a UPA 7 right now and it sounds fine but I really wanted a XPR 7. This is pretty close and the price was right. BTW, No one ever answered the question about the gain, is it 34 or 29?

Sherbourn told me it was 29 db, but could not tell me why it tested at 34db, therefore my conclusion is that what it tested at is indeed what it is, whether they advertise it or not. I actually cancelled my order due to this, I just didn't feel great about having an amp with such high gain. I'm sure ill regret it if everyone one here writes raving reviews on it now.

I called them and they said the specs listed on the product page were for one of the first 7-350 they made and tested. They lowered the gain on subsequent models but didn't update the page. They assured me it was 29 and I hope it is.

The Sherbourn test data shows a date of 2/7/13.

It seems strange that they would have updated the amplifier to 29db gain only a few months before clearing them out and shutting Sherbourn's doors.

So it appears that if you order this amp yesterday on their website and did receive a confirmation that you have to wait until September. That's what I'm being told by customer support. I explain that I didn't preorder this and it was available when I added it to cart.

From my experience, website availability tends to lag behind inventory by a few hours or days. This happens with just about every website. I'm not defending Emotiva here but from this thread you can see they have been flying off the shelves. It isn't surprising the website wasn't up-to-the-second accurate. And with that price, a few weeks wait isn't so bad. You can always cancel your order and let someone else take advantage of the deal.

I suppose that it's possible that this change of direction, though it may have been mused about for a while, is actually a sudden course change for the corporation.

Wow. This is no joke. If there is anybody on this forum who has a pre/pro of decent caliber you MUST take advantage of this posthaste. This will take care of your power needs forever. I would jump all over this if I didn't have the XPR-5. What a screaming deal.

Look for this amp to got to either Emotiva or Emotiva Pro. They are not shelving this design; it will return with a new face plate before the end of the year (likely). Look for an anouncement during Emofest.
