After tweaking with the sms1 things sound so much different in a good way. No more boominess. Took some getting used too but now I love it. I notice a lot more floor shaking but no sound bass. Definitely no need for buttkickers at my house. This new system compared to what I had last month with an Elite and xpa5 with no sms1 is so much in another league. Rewatching all my favorite movies is awesome hearing new things. The detail is insane. I will never do an avr again. seperates is the only way to go!!!! The new pa 7-350 is ice cold also even when partying for hours. I slid a laptop cooler on top of it powered by my laptop setting next to it.

Selkec you sir have a nice Rack. It looks great man! Now that just sounds funny, LOL! And now some questions for the OP - Are your threaded rods stainless steel or galvanized? If the former, where did you buy them? Also, what diameter are they? Thanks - Boom

that rack is way better than mine!!! I want that one instead I used 3/4 threaded rod. It is not stainless because they cost triple the price. Im not sure its even galvanized. I thought I remember galvanized looked like $%^t. My center supports are 5/8" In my pics it looks as if its bowed in the center but I assure it is not. It is perfectly level and could hold hundreds more pounds. The grain in the trim I used makes it look like its sagging in the middle.

Thanks, selkec - I think I'll build two - one for either side of the sub with center speaker on top. I also plan to put some heavy-duty rollers on mine for easy wire access.
Yours looks most excellent - good job!

I'm thinking 24" wide by about 20" deep. The extra 4" on depth could make mine a tripping hazard... With only a 24" width is the 3/4" ply strong enough not to bend with 75# amplifiers on the shelves?

Boom, I have XPRs on mine (100#), 3/4" shelves and not a lick of flex in those shelves. The way the whole thing reinforces itself once you tighten the nuts around each shelf with the big flat washers, it's strong as could be.

Boom Boom, use MDF instead of plywood, it's easier IMO to sand and get a nicer finish out of it, my flexy is made with 3/4 MDF and when I put the bottom shelf on first I was actually standing on it and I'm 190lbs Chad
