BTM-1 Umc-200 Bluetooth dongle

I was wondering if there were any special USB extension cable to be used with this dongle. I have tried 2 different USB extension on the unit and each time even thru the unit is receiving Bluetooth , i am losing the Bluetooth menus and the other paired Bluetooth connections. When plugged directly in the umc-200, the menus reappears along with all the other pairing selections .
Very strange, I am trying to move the unit from my rack to a higher vantage point in order to improve reception.
Any ideas guys and girls?

I have no experience, but how long are the USB extension cables that you're trying?

I have tried a 3 and 6 feet extension cables with the same results.

I know some or maybe all WiFi USB sticks come with an extension but they are usually only about3 or 4 inches long, maybe try and find one of them and give it a shot.
