Thanks for getting back to me, the person I purchased my amp from imports them from China and sells them on e-bay. He took the time to install the tubes, and adjust the bias on them then he repacked the amp for shipment. If you don't mind I might PM you when I get ready to adjust the bias for the first time if I have any more questions. I plan to stay in touch with "villock" as well. He use to own a MC30-L for a while which was how I first saw one. That was before he got the Melody Astro Black 50 integrated he's currently listening to.
I really like the sound of this little amp. 50 watts/channel ultra linear mode, 25 watts/channel triode or Class A mode. I like listening to both. Currently my plan it to keep it. It really sounds great with my Tekton Designs M-Lore speakers. They are 95db efficient so the amp has no trouble driving them. Rest assured though that I will be watching to see what Emotiva comes up with too. Maybe they will be able to entice me into selling my Yaqin.
I'm a bit surprised however, that you would consider selling your Jolida's, especially since you paid extra to have them modified. I'm sure they sound great, and at 140 watts/channel they should have plenty of headroom to suit any situation. I'm going to watch and see if you change your mind when the time comes.
I brought my first Emotiva mono block amp this month, a XPA-100. I wish it was a XPA-1L but they don't fit my budget. I plan to get the other one next month. Then I'll be looking for a preamp to put with them. I'm not sure if it will be from Emotiva or not. I'm not sure if I want a solid state preamp. Since Emtiva doesn't have a tube preamp in their line up I've been seriously considering the Jolida JD5T tube pre amp, and the Xiang Sheng 728A tube pre amp.
It's not that I have anything against Emotiva pre amps. So they aren't completely out of the running. I'll just have to wait until the first of the year to decide. We'll see how it goes.
