I thought I would do it on a website where more people would read it. its at audio review .com www.audioreview.com/mfr/emotiva/amplifiers/xpa-1-monoural-power-amplifiers/PRD_429864_1583_2268088crx.aspx Cheers to all at Emotiva for making a truly world class amplifier. Dan & Cathy, Lonnie, Dann, Nick, Jennifer and the whole crew involved in these fine works of art! Thank you there are a few inconsistoncies which the regulars here will probably figure out, but truth be told, this is exactly how I feel about these amps! I know this is not a stereophile or stereo magazine professional review, but i tried my best with my limited edumication and vocabullary. I have been listening to hi-fi gear for upwards of 20 years, and own several pieces of very high end gear in my opinion, so when it comes to detail and dynamics I do know a little about what to expect of amplifiers and their sound, detail, spaciousness, and slam, and the most important to me the ability to have finesse and slam in the same sentence is very important! as stated in my review. I would have writtenmuch more, but they only give you so many characters to write

audio review has many empty places for Emo gear, why not everyone who has a few minutes give a eview of their gear on here, the more good reviews, the more customers they will have, as thousands of people read these audioreview reviews every day, would be good for business for the company, they would see a pretty substantial gain in business

I am sure that is why we have over 2,000 forum members now...

Hello everyone. This is my first post in the Lounge. Arctik, Nice review. I enjoyed it and I took you up on your suggestion and posted a review of my own at audioreview. I hope you don't mind too much, but I plagiarized a couple of statements from your write up. I couldn't help myself, I just loved where you said, "Crystalline sound envelops you in a omni-directional soundwave which is everywhere!". Isn't that what they say in the Bose commercials? "And no matter what I'm doing, I just start dancing." I'm a retired computer programmer and where I come from plagiarism is the ultimate complement. My motto at work was, "steal shamelessly", when it came to creating code, and as long as it was from another employee within our own business, it was a good thing to do. And I figure, both of us being Emo customers, kind of puts us on the same team, so I hope you don't mind. I have Magnepan IIIa speakers in my HT and I've been looking for something to drive them with, that has more power than my A/V receiver can supply; something that I could also enjoy for two channel music listening. I'd read some posts mentioning Emotiva in a couple of places, such as the Asylum and A'gon and wondered what the buzz was. Now I know. I was seriously considering purchasing a McIntosh MC500 used on A'gon, because the seller's zip was within driving distance and I wanted to check out the goods before laying out big bucks for a used item such as this. But to be honest, I didn't like the flavor of the few email exchanges I had with the seller. Maybe he was busy, I don't know, but I consider it my good fortune that I tend to follow my gut on certain things and passed on the deal. Then, I don't really know how it happened, but somehow I ended up on the Emo web site while doing some research, and I liked what I read about the XPA-1; and the price just blew me away. I mean, how can you go wrong buying a new amp with a five year warranty and a thirty day money back no questions asked return policy. Well, there is the risk of paying to ship it back. I'll take that risk, any day. So, I placed my order for two XPA-1s on 12/26 and the order process said it was a back ordered item, but had an expected ship date of 12/29. So I made plans with a friend for a road trip, since it wasn't due to ship for three days. Imagine my surprise on 12/29 when I went on the Internet for the first time after placing the order (I was 4 hours from home with limited Internet access), and upon checking my email, seeing that my order had shipped on 12/27 and had a delivery date of 12/29. Uh Oh. Holy crap "that's today", I thought. I'm going to miss the delivery, which I did. But, no biggy, it was delivered the next day instead. I won't bore you all, with the details of delivery, setup, and so on and so forth. Let me just say, that so far, I am not disappointed with my purchase. These things literally kick @$$. Oops, SORRY! Sometimes I get carried away, especially when I'm having fun! And these toys are fun, aren't they? And my sound system just keeps getting better! I know I've just written a lot of words and I really haven't said much, but I think you can infer from what I've written, that I think pretty highly of these bad boys, especially for the price. Enjoy the music, everyone! Peace, Patrick
