You can dim them all the way down to off, but my wife likes them on! She loves them. ;D
Which is good, since another pair of those pretty VU meters is in the batters box.

It finally happened. My wife this morning (Sunday) said "what are those blue lights in the cabinet?" Wow, I cracked up when I read this... I've had my XPA-3 for about 2 weeks and she still hasn't asked... ;D However, I did turn off the three blue channel indicator LEDs, but that dang yellow/blue Emotiva logo power indicator is tough to hide... I'm not sure how I'm going to sneak in an RPA-2 yet... especially since I'm out of space IN the cabinet and it's going to have to sit on top... Even if it's possible to turn those meters off, I don't think I could bring myself to do it. I like to use the "air purifier" line. "Honey, that black box on top of the cabinet is cleaning 99.9% of the bad stuff out of the air we breathe! When the needles are barely moving that means the air is almost perfectly clean!" ;D

Hmmm. They must have changed that with the RPA-2.

Yeah, I just double checked, 4 levels. The 4th is really dim but no all the way off. That's OK I'm like you, the brighter the better ;D

I ran Audyssey on Friday and finally had time to listen to 2 channel and multichannel music Saturday night. Even though I had manually tweaked everything I could and thought I had done a good job my system now sounds MUCH better. All the music I used to think was too harsh (and it was) to listen to at higher levels and for long periods just doesn't sound that way any more. All the music with female voices that used to make me cringe sounds smooth and not edgy. I had some people over and we were out of the immediate listening area so I had the music cranked up and it was very enjoyable. Thanks to those that recommended the RPA-2 ;D I have another question though about the unbalanced and balanced inputs. Is it possible to have my HT (Denon) running to the RCA connectors on the RPA and have a 2 channel pre running to the balanced inputs but never having them both on at the same time. And if so what would happen if I accidentally did turn on both at the same time?
Thanks.

And if you turn both on you can hear both sources...really strange...lol, but just dont do that.

Whoa. That's interesting. Most amps have the switch to avoid that issue. Very cool!
Of course, I would not do that, either...

FedEX delayed my RPA-2 somehow. It was supposed to arrive today. It's happy on the road now, though!

The RPA-2 arrived today! Emotiva called FedEX yesterday since the tracking info said the package had been sitting in Nashville since it was picked up on Wednesday (6 days ago). Emotiva called me back within 10 minutes and said it had been delayed and was on its way. They said to expect it on the 29th. FedEX must have freaked out because they shipped it next day from Nashville! Thanks for kicking the shipper, Emo!

Ok, for those of you trying to explain the new gear to the wives....Buy and install whatever it is you want.....then make sure you are playing your wedding video and have a tear falling(even if it's from eyedrops) when she walks into the room. Just a suggestion ;D Good luck!

That wouldn't work with my wife lol. She would say "ahhh, honey that's so sweet. What the hell is that thing, and how much did it cost!"
