I've decided why I HATE mowing grass. In two weeks (or even one, at this time of year), it's like you never did it at all. I like to do something once and move on to other things (except for a few specific things... ). I'd just hire someone else to do the lawn, but my wife is freaked out about the economy and thinks we're going to end up homeless. Doesn't want me to spend a penny on anything that's not absolutely essential. So I've got Louisiana heat, a big yard, and a small mower. Bah Humbug! DIY, not only it's a good workout, you will see it was done your way, then you will deserve that cold six pack....😉 and it's your house, I used to rent a house, big backyard, I would drink powerade and beer, it would take on average one and a half hour, but the satisfaction was there every time...

T-Mobile. Fixed charge for 2 lines, include Mexico and all text / data. I later added the T-Mobile 5G access point. My internet went from from maybe 40mb to over 130. UP went up 4x or 5x, too....... And I got the senior rate. We pay less NOW than just for our Phones when we had ATT. Internet thru COX? went up to I think 68$ or some such. I called and bitched. The 3rd offer was for 38$ per month (no mention of tax / fees) for 2 years. I thanked her and tole her to PULL THE PLUG I already had my 5G Access Point up and running......
TOO BAD you will probably have to call 'em and get either ugly or simply QUIT (that's what I'd do after a Little Research)
I was with Verizon from WAY BACK when they were PacTel......Yep......and never questioned the BS. Our neice needed a phone and we helped. But we ended up with about 2000 minutes a month AND NO GOING BACK.
Just had a nice call from DTV. they are now 'owned' by ATT, the OTHER predatory bunch of Pirates in this space. I asked why my bill was so low? I told her I wanted to PAY MORE.....and hopefully get LESS.....

rendering of my proposed table for my Big Green Egg. I have the granite and need only to 'spec' the wood..... In the software, (no longer works on my mac) you can 'flip' it around and view EVERY detail I also have a leg detail on a separate sheet. I wanted to use large brass Lag Bolts for some and hidden Pocket Screws for other parts. Depending on software, I MIGHT (20% chance?) have an easier way to do the 'top' edge....curved and all.....in Google Sketchup..... Attachments:

Sketchup is the bomb. I designed my home theater and several of its components using it. Fairly steep learning curve, but really useful once accomplished.

Last table shot...... Underside view of bottom shelf. Egg goes over 200lb so support is vital. I think a 2x6 frame would be a good way to go....... And maybe 4x4 legs? And yes...I used the freeware version and never 'mastered' it... I guess I should look into 'new' which must be 64bit to work on the newer iMacs..... Attachments:

I’m suddenly getting ads on the Lounge (and never did before). Some of them marginally inappropriately looking.

I make no claims as an artist - I just need to get my book in to the publisher next month (WITH illustrations). So far, so good. My work isn't too polished, but for the purposes it needs to serve, it's sufficient.

I'm kind of sorry I ever sold my basX A2 amp. It sounded awesome & drove every speaker I tried it with. I don't know of a better value for the $$$ since the PA-1 amps sold out. Next time I'm in the market for a SS amp, I think the basX A2 will be on my list!
Meanwhile, I'm still enjoying my PA-1 amps and just picked up a Stealth DC-1 DAC from e-Bay to go with them. Will the DC-1 outperform my Big Ego+? I'm eager to find out...

DONE! I've created 50 images for my book. If the publisher wants more, they can KMA. The last of the Mohicans:

I lied - did three more (bridging, ratholing, & tunneling): Just reminded me of my job in the 90's .... I worked for Leeds & Northrup designing the graphics displays and objects for the Max1000 distributed process control system. It was the first process control system to run on Windows with a GUI. Imagine trusting Win 3.0 to control a coal power plant! Anyways, the software we used to create the screens was from a company called UFO Systems (User Friendly Operating Systems) and they "ported" a product running on the GEM operating system to Windows ... well best they could, anyway. It was buggy as hell, and slow for like two years. I used to say we didn't use a stopwatch to time opening screens ... we used a calendar. So I created graphics that looked much like your illustrations, except they could be animated with live data (1s update) from sensors in the plant. Vessels would fill and drain, valves would open and close, objects would flash red if there was a problem. Very common now, but quite new for 1990! And especially interesting in that most of the systems that were sold were going into plants with analog or pneumatic controls, and control rooms with a 20ft steel panel with physical knobs, buttons and gauges. Operators were scared to death.
