You said the your issue did not happen all the time. If condition persists with new amps, try writing down the time of day that problem does occur. I had a problem in my system that was due to some piece of equipment being turned on/off in my neighborhood at the same time each day that drove me crazy. Finally figured out noise was being introduced through my cable box.

routlaw I really do appreciate you input into this situation. However I am not sure I understand. You mention that I should just connect the speakers nothing else, no other sources. There are only speaker cables to connect and a balance cable to connect to each of the amps...all sources are connected to the processor. No matter what source I would turn on be it my Oppo, Sony, Chordette, or Comcast the issue existed. What are the chances that all four sources are a problem in this situation? The only other cable I had connected was the trigger cable. The amps were set to balanced. The issue still occurred when NOTHING was connected to the XPA's except the power cord but of course there was no noise just the blue LED light moving across the front panel then the blue dot. The single blue dot I know is normal but the blue LED light moving across the front panel when no volume is introduced when the amps are connected to the speakers and a distortion like noise coming from the speaker is not normal. IMHO if there is nothing connected to the XPA's except the power cord and I was getting the same results I do not feel it is a problem with the system. Is it a problem with the amps or an electrical issue?? I do not know. Having an electrician checking my outlets and finding that nothing was wrong leads me to believe that if it is not the XPA's it possible can be from an electrical source outside the house that I cannot control. That being said Emotiva had my XPA's on the bench for a few days and found nothing wrong. I am sure that Emotiva in the business they are in has in their electrical system a means of conditioning their power source. Their is a electronic repair shop in my neighbor that has been around for years and has a source outside of their building that makes sure the current is clean. No such device is in my house. Thanks to Nick at Emotiva I have been shipped two new XPA's and I am hoping with some adjustments that I do not have this weird annoying symptom in my system.
Again thanks for the advice but I had to make clear as best I could as to what is going on.

You got new speaker cables around the same time this started no? If it happens again I would start there using regular zip cord wire as a control.
Good luck!

Hey thanks for the good luck but in previous posts I also stated that the problem existed with NO CABLES connected to the XPA's except the power cord. I wish it could be that simple. Hopefully with these new amps it's a non-issue. Had electrician check circuits and he found nothing. So new cables both speaker and balanced are not the problem. Circuits are not the problem. It could have been the XPA's or possibly something in the electrical line that is out of my control....dirty At this point I really have checked everything and there is no where else to go.
Keeping positive the test run is tomorrow.

Yooooo...audiobill I was just getting online for the Emotiva Forum and I see you posted. So far so good! I did not have enough time yesterday to be able to listen to the XPA's just time enough to put them in place and connect the speaker and balanced cables. I know that I said that with the first XPA's I disconnected everything except the power cords and I was still getting a problematic more annoying issue with the LEDS but I had ordered two power cables from Emotiva. From what I read they block out noise that might be from other cables in the system. Some other people on the forum stated that the standard power cables that come with the amps are good enough that they are made very well. My thoughts were that perhaps they are made well but why would Emotiva be selling an upgraded version of their power cords if it did not have something more to offer. Yesterday I just plugged everything in and waited until today to receive the new power cables. They are made of some good quality material and also they were very tight in both connections...to the XPA's and the outlet. At this point I do not have the trigger cables connected. I want to physical turn on and off the XPA's. I also intend to leave the XPA's ON for 48 hours straight. I am listening to some classical today for a start. I need something calm. I am glad that Emotiva came thru with NEW amplifiers. It's to early to say that there is no issue but I feel optimistic and confident that between the new power cables and XPA's the problem is solve. My 804S's sound awesome. I intend to wait a couple of weeks before calling Nick at Emotiva or making a special posting about the outcome, although I am kind of saying it here...right?
Thanks for asking

I wish I had two XPA-1 gen 2's. You lucky dog! A DC-1 coupled to the XPA-1's would be fully balanced class A sweetness. Someday....

This update maybe to soon having just received my NEW XPA1's this Monday. I was hard pressed to set them up and listen to some good music since the amps were absent for about ten days. From previous posts you know I had to send both XPA1's back to Emotiva....regrettably. Anyway I must have turn these amps on more than a dozen times with no issues. I hope it stays this way and I am confident that it will. Right now I am enjoying some Jazz....Joe Sample's Ashes to Ashes. Sweet and relaxing. Speaking of sweet....These XPA's are really enjoyable to listen. My 804's seem like they are relaxed with having the headroom that the XPA's offer.
Hope everyone has a great weekend with no SNOW...we are suppose to get hit with a big one tomorrow night into Monday morning. Hope they are wrong. Big time.
