The projector is a SIM2 M.150 LED based single chip DLP. It's the finest projector I have ever seen and tested.

If so, if you don't mind me asking that is, do you have any recommendations for a projector in the neighborhood of $3,000 or less? I'm looking at going from my 73" inch Mitsubishi DLP to a projector, if you or others see any benefit in that. ( I know little about projectors)It seems my picture is lacking luster these days its feeling outdated somehow.

For around $3,000 the only two brands I recommend are JVC and Epson. The JVCs are phenomenal, especially after calibration. I believe their entry level projector is around $3,000, though you may be able to score last year's model for a few hundred less. Epson starts at around $1,000 and max out, realistically, around $3,000. The Epson product is a GREAT first projector -it's what I had and lived with when I was just getting started. Then I graduated to JVC and then finally the SIM2 after 10 years of living with projectors. I think I had a Sony in there, but I wouldn't recommend it over Epson or JVC.

Since Judd put his up, here's a not so great picture(but the best of the ones I just took) of my setup taken with an iPhone, the room is normally much darker so maybe that's the reason for such poor picture quality. A UMC-200 is normally where the DC-1(rediscovering my fronts and two channel listening this week) is now, but it's been sent in for a capacitor/power source fix. Love the subs!

I don't know why Judd, but I just wasn't expecting a setup that clean looking from you! ROFL

Sim2...my dream machine Andrew. Saw one at a home theater show a few years ago...flawless...but right now a bit out of my league. I understand stand they have an amazing lamp life. LED light? How is the brightness level because I have read that LED presents a small challenge in that department.
Not that I will shopping for a Sim soon.

The M.150 is unique among LED based DLPs in that it HAS actual light output. I'm well within the THX figures for foot lamberts for a front projection setup with a screen of my size. The lamp life is rated at 20,000 hours, needless to say, even with the release of 4K, this is my last projector.

It's almost 30K retail so you should be able to pick one up for around 25K or so. ...as far as a good projector for around 3K look long and hard at the 5030UB from Epson.

I like to keep things as simple as possible and the Stealth 6s really do go a long way in making that possible for me. They're big on sound, not too big on size and when you add in the fact that I don't ever have to worry about power, it's a no brainer -for me at least. I have 2 preamps, an Integra DHC 80.2 for cinema and an XSP-1 Gen 2 for two channel. My sub goes through a Behringer before entering the XSP-1, then it's part of the HT bypass on the Integra. I have two sources, a Dune-HD Max, which is a play anything machine and a Chromecast. The whole setup is easy to use, was even easier to integrate and sounds just as good and in many ways better than many of the setups I've employed in the past but with far less waste and hassle.

Attachment DeletedA quick little GIF animation of the build out of my room. None of it is permanent, in fact, it's all pressure fit between the ceiling and floor. I've built other theaters this way and the results are fantastic and easy to change should you want to go a different route in the future. Not to mention cheap. the room you see before you was built in 3 days. 1 for paint. 1 for build. 1 for finishing. Total cost (minus gear) around $80.

Here is a pic of my 2 channel room (sorry, no Emo gear). I no longer have the DAC pictured and have gone to a Scott Nixon tube DAC. I do have a pair of Magnepan MMG's setup at the moment, but I have a few mods to do to them before I show them off... I doubt I will get rid to the Aurum Cantus speakers pictured, even if I like the result of my Maggie project.

That wall is a nice touch and after seeing it I may go a similar route, if I can decide on a projector that is. In my room the center channel is about 8" lower that the tweeters on the front R/L if I was able to bring the center channel up in line with the tweeters of the fronts like your stealths, does this improve the sound stage at all?

Have the stealths replaced the pendragons?
