My XPA-2 was delivered by Fedex this morning..The driver about hurt himself humping it to the door and was greatful I took it from there...Right now, it is warming up sitting outside it's box till tomorrow, then I'll hook it up to see how it does..
My Thanks to Cathy,Jennifer,Lonnie and Big Dan...you guys are great...3 days from ordering to having it in my home..that is just awesome...
I'll let you all know how it sounds..and snap some pictures after I get it and the XPA-5 moved around in the cabinet..The beast will be down on the bottom shelves this time...no way would I put it up on top..

Hey Mac is your cabinet going to fit this beast? I had to purchase a new cabinet for my XPA-5 and I had to cut the back panel out just to get it to fit.

Hey Mac is your cabinet going to fit this beast? I had to purchase a new cabinet for my XPA-5 and I had to cut the back panel out just to get it to fit. Yes..it will fit. I need to just re-arraign the components and add a slid out shelf for my Turntable. Right now the amp is sitting in the bottom space I had set up for my LP's..so I have to move the shelves around a bit . The back is completely removable and just velcro'd on and I built it to have 8" of clearance behind everything so that's not a worry. I'll get it all in by next Monday.. Mac

My XPA-2 has been integrated nicely now for a couple weeks. I'm almost done with my cabinet so I'll post some pics later this week. I got both the XPA-5 & 2 on the lowest shelf..and have my 250lb rated shelf sliders here to make my turn table shelf easily moved in and out. Today I hooked up a fully reconditioned Integra 9.8 I picked up from a really good guy. He took pity on my video situation here and made me a offer I couldn't pass up on.
Music wise the difference between the XPA-5 (all 5 channels driven ) & XPA-2 is huge with my Rockets. Normally folks say 50 watts difference doesn't amounmt to much, but since I was running the 5 with 3 channels driven so wattage wise it was the same. The difference is exactly what others have said...dynamics,dynamics,dynamics. The bass on my front 850's is so much more intense. I was completely blown away with how much clearer the music is,as well as the seperation of the instruments. The sound stage has widen some too..This isn't downing the XPA-5...not in the least..but...Holy Crappola...this amp really makes these Rockets come alive. Everything from classic to acid ..country to opera..all has a more lively presentation.Did I say how great the bass responce is with this amp...I haven't heard bass from these Rockets till now...
I decieded to play movies today, all SD ones to get a good idea on how well the Reon chipset does, and I and my wife are very pleased. The movies we watched so far has been Open Range,U-571,POTC #1,and Transformers.I am still tweaking it,but so far it has made a huge difference..one that my wife is happy with..Some Blue Ray movies is on tap for tonight..so she will know the difference..I also ran the gamet of 10 different demo disc while the family was out of the house earlier.Explosions are sharp and quick..not sounding like distant rolling thunder. The gun fight scene in Open Range has to be one of the best western ones made. The XPA-2 just delivers in spades for my front mains..coupled with the XPA-5 for everything else...I'm overwhelmed..I can only imagine what 7 XPA-1's would do for me ;D
Soon as my turntable is finished..I will be doimg some serious LP listening...I can hardly wait...
More to come

Well..I've played around for the last 3 days getting the INtegra dialed in as well as the new XPA-2 and my MMF-7.1 turntable..Here's how things look now..see what you think I found out my Jolida is having some problems..and most likely will have to replace 1 or both tubes..which really blows..but I got it hook straight thru the Integra..and with the XPA-2 it sounds very nice, running direct fronts only.. My first LP played was was a old favorite of mine.. Super Tramp... Even in the Quietest Moment A&M 1977 Playing this album was a real treat..and one of my favorite bands..Mids seemed a little veiled until I cranked it up a bit..The bass on this album is very tight..all in all a good pressing Next was a standard..Pink Floyd DSOTM..this is a LE album by Capitol 1973.. Very clean presentation..and I am very glad to play it . I have a new SACD to compare it to..and did so..2 channel Rocks Baby...and can hold it's own with this recording..All instuments played clean..all vocals place properly..and the sound stage is HUGE.. Toning it down a little..I played Fleetwood Mac Tusk Warner 1979..A great pressing of this album..if you can find it.. Since I don't have all of my LP's here..they are being stored out of state..my only classical LP to try is one from my wifes collection.. Tchaikovsky Nut Cracker Suite Peter and the Wolf by Lenard Berstien and the NY Philharmonic..Columbia 1973..I can only say I was transported to front row center with this LP..The clarity of the instuments carried me along till finished. Everything sounded so real..so clean..so precise..it was truely an experiance...I can't wait to try some other classical pressings . I finished my listening session..with a album I rocked out on many years ago..ZZ Tops Eliminator Warner 1983..Damn...it made me want to jump in the GT and tear up the streets... How can I say this...Anyone afraid of buying a XPA-2 over any other amp for playing LP's...don't be afraid...get one while you can. This amp will take you to levels you never dreamed of,especially if you have any AV123 Rockets..Blast off with it.. It is clean..It is pure, and it has enough balls to drive your speakers in a way you have never experianced them..Why they say this amp isn't a reference amp..I have no clue.. Thanks Emotiva..you certainly made this guy a happy camper.. Mac

Nice pics and write up. I had wanted the RPA-3 to compliment the XPA-3 and now giving serious consideration to the XPA-2. Your write was helpful.
