I had been using VB for a few years...then it got unmanageable and with no updates for ages I looked at jriver. now with the sinology the game has changed I think for now thats all I need for storage and media playback.

What do you mean with no updates for ages? VB gets updates all the time. The latest version is based on Fedora 20...

And the prior one was over a year back. I've moved on When something works, why change it? Ver 2.2 was only updates to 2.3 due to loss of support for Fedora 16.

it doesn't support enough DLNA devices...or maybe any, at least that I remember. its too hard to add additional storage to and having system info displayed like adding LMSensors etc is not for the man in the lounge. its great for geeks and I am one of them, but as I said I moved on to something more robust that gives me more features and allows access to my music anywhere out of the box. Im all for open source stuff but sometimes its just not the easiest for the masses to be able to adopt.
