I had a feeling someone may be looking for the number! What an odd decision not to stamp them somewhere on the body. Are you, by any chance, monitoring a certain thread on AVS where this might have come up? Agreed, I'd expected to see the S/N on the back of the unit. I received a PM from a lounger asking about it. I don't bother with other forums and hangout primarily on the lounge here where rational members can have engaging and meaningful discussions. We also welcome constructive criticism of Emotiva products here (as long as it is done in a civil manner).

Bear with me for a moment, I'd like to get a feel for how "future-proof" the awesome XMC-1 really is... In a very "timely" stroke... the HDMI 2.0 spec was just released: www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_0/hdmi_2_0_faq.aspxSo... now I'm wondering how "upgradeable" the XMC-1 will be to HDMI 2.0? Was it over-engineered enough to allow for a firmware update and "full speed ahead" for HDMI 2.0, or will it require replacing the HDMI interface board entirely? Will such a hardware upgrade even be offered? Inquiring minds want to know... =^)

My totally uninformed WAG:
Hardware swap required, new HDMI chip set with two dot oh and the latest hdcp crap baked in.
Easy install: Put XMC-1 on a good work surface Pop the bonnet Connect ESD strap to wrist (included with upgrade board). Disconnect a power cable, two ribbon cables, and that mystery two conductor cable from the HDMI board. Back out ten screws from the back panel, two holding the PCB down. Remove old board, replace with new one. Reinstall screws Hook up internal cables Remove wrist strap Reinstall the lid Power up and flash new firmware Done.

Been lurking for a while so I figured I would add to this to the tip thread. I've had my xmc-1 for a whole 2 days and found out that daisy chaining triggers doesn't work well with this unit. Setting up this unit was easy as pie since I simply swapped the unit wire by wire with my old unit . My old set up (parasound 2500) worked fine with the trigger daisy chained to two separate amps, but the xmc-1 acted very strange until I unplugged the trigger to my sub amp. I guess that is why there are 4 triggers on this unit. Just thought I'd share. Peace

Peace Craig I have a XPA 3 daisy chained to an XPA 2, which in turn is connected to a trigger on the XMC 1 and have had zero problems with it so far.

No problems using an XPA-200 daisy-chained with an XPA-3.
