I have yet to see a network audio player that has a colored screen. My Denon doesn't have a colored screen and I never had any issues. A colored screen would also be an added expense when you're trying to keep the price down. The pioneer elite N-50 has a color screen.

I think it's an added expense that is not needed. The Teac has a nice big screen which would make it legible within a reasonable distance.

My Denon displays artist and name of song but not on every channel, and no album cover. The only ones I would be iin having is artist and song. To me that's an added expense that could go elsewhere where needed.
All I am looking for is for Emotiva reconsider this idea and see if there would be enough interest for move forward.

I thought I would post a couple pics of the Teac NP-H750 for your viewing pleasure along with the dimensions. Would be good for secondary systems if it had a color screen for browsing. Pro-Ject has ones with colour screens. I played with one for a bit but ended up returning it. The most important thing with regards to a streamer (outside of the obvious, gapless, bit perfect and 24/192) is the app. The Naim and Simaudio both have wonderful ones while I felt the pro-Ject was lacking. I ended up with the Moon Mind bc I didn't want to pay for a dac in the naims that I would not be using. A built in dac in these just seems like a waste to me.

I personally think that creating the right user experience for a network player is very tricky. The hardware is easy and straightforward... the right UI is not.

If we can get enough interest for this product, hopefully Emotiva will reconsider their interest.

I'm not sure what has already been said here, but I can answer the OP question. Yes. Sorry, thats all I can say. Lonnie I officially offer to beta test whatever you may or may not be working on. I routinely sign NDA agreements with work. Whatever is or is not being worked on would be tested in an evironment by me a degreed engineer and logical thinker and my wife who while logical is not all that technical. I have various systems and applications that include both Emotiva gear and non-Emotiva gear. I can test streamed via wired and wireless. I can do multiple dnla servers or direct connected. We have android and IDevices for remote testing also. We could help you with a thorough functional test Thank you for your consideration.

it's very difficult to please everyone on this topic since all formats are not obvious to implement on the cheap and lots of compatibility settings have to be thought of... not mentioning internet radios and services!
I've still to be demonstrated with a pleasent player/server combo where the server would be on my NAS (and I'm ready to change NAS) and player would read all current hi def formats (up to 24/384 and DSD 128) with a nice search engine and tablet control app... That would run off a clean power supply and output signal to my USB DAC!
sotm sms-100 looks good on paper like the Auralic Aries that's still to come, then different servers and remote apps have to be tested to check if they are suitable... can't be bothered for the moment!

Everyone... Click on the link for the Teac and read about the features and the specs on this unit. Some or most of your questions could possibly be answered. The Teac and my Denon has Vtuner which is the internet radio that supplies over 20,000 channels. It would not be difficult to add Pandora, Rhapsody or other pay channels. I love the idea of having free music. With Vtuner, there's no need for the pay channels. Just my opinion.

We can use this thread to discuss the product.
I hope Emotiva will consider a network audio player with a small integrated amp. The Teac has binding posts that accept banana plugs. However, the Airmotivs have an XLR connect and an RCA connect. It would make sense to include balanced connections for this product, which would be one difference from the Teac.

I have a feeling that Emotiva has this product under consideration but in a different format. A different format from what? BTW the prototype device they showed years ago was pretty interesting, and included a fairly large screen (which I do not need). I hope Lonnie finishes it soon so we can evaluate.

Playing games there 4play? When you decide to communicate seriously let me know. I for one hope Emotiva DO NOT try to compete with Sonus with an integrated amp/player. Or rather, if they do go that way that's fine and I hope they sell a bunch of them, it will just be a product I will have no interest in.

I very much like and appreciate the screen on my squeezebox touch. It is invaluable in using the unit without having to break out an app /phone/tablet. This is how I use mine 90% of the time. In fact, I built a server without screen of any type and I find myself not using it as much as my squeezebox touch even though the touch is in my TV system.
I'm not sure why that Teac unit is being touted so much. No digital out? So I am stuck with teac's version of music? Don't want their amp either. No thanks that unit comes nowhere close to the functionality I want in a player.
