It works for me on my iPad Pro 10.5 and iPhone 6 perfectly. Make sure your iPhone is on the same network as your XMC-1

I called Emotiva and found out the XMC-1 has to be connected with a Ethernet cable to the cable router for the remote app to work. Now works great.

My android app stopped working when it used to be fine. No XMC-1 is found, even after a rescan
I have an ethernet cable from a wi-fi remote adaptor to the XMC. I can connect to Dirac no problem using the same adaptor so I think I can take that out of the equation.
Uninstalled and then reinstalled the app with no luck. Anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?

Only way to be sure is to run a cable directly from your router into the back of the XMC-1 and try out the app. If still the same problem, then most likely the app....which will get fixed right after Emotiva releases the RMC-1 and XMC-1 Gen 3 in 2049 . Seriously, do keep us posted on your progress.

Unfortunately hard wiring directly from the router is a problem as it's in another room. Interestingly, yesterday I tried again and the app found the XMC. For about 5 minutes or so. Once I closed the app and opened it again the XMC was not recognized.

Typical troubleshooting question, ‘has anything changed?’ For instance did you install the HDMI V3 board? I’ve notice my App has possibly crashed a couple times since installing the board. Doesn’t seem like a direct correlation, video and network, but not to be discounted. So anything change in your system or network? Are you in a crowded WiFi space, like a dense neighborhood or apartment? New neighbors? Is your adapter 2.4 or 5 GHz? 2.4 is more susceptible to channel interference, but gets better distance.

Nope, no significant changes. The environment is the same as its always been with the exception of a new laptop and LG OLED. I haven't received my notice that the new board is ready so that's out. At first I thought that perhaps starting Dirac had somehow "woken up" the XMC but further testing proved this to be false. My router is dual band but the adaptor lists no frequency in it's description. It's made by IOgear and as mentioned works fine with Dirac. I'm sorta at a loss at this point.

Once I closed the app and opened it again the XMC was not recognized. When you connect the XMC-1 via ethernet to a wi-fi access point, you are in essence communicating with the unit via wi-fi. This then allows you for example to use a wi-fi connection to sync and control DIRAC via your laptop. That being said, your phone cannot hardwire into your network so it is setup correctly as you have it. If the app found it then lost the signal then perhaps you have an IP conflict on your network. You can try setting a static IP on the XMC-1 to see if that resolves the issue. Also, you should try switching between DHCP enabled and disabled as it does not behave properly as it should sometimes. With the above in mind, I still would get a 50 foot Cat5e cable and run directly into your router to rule out the adapter.

Thanks for the reply. I'll toggle the DHCP setting and see if the issue resolves.

... You can try setting a static IP on the XMC-1 to see if that resolves the issue. ... Great suggestion! I actually assign static DHCP addresses to all equipment 'known' to the network, then I can manage them in one place (the router), and if an address shows up outside my static range I know it's something new, or an intruder.

So the intermittent loss of the XMC in the app continues but I may have a clue. At one point last night the XMC was not found. I cycled wi-fi off, then on on my phone and it popped back up. My router has both 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels which I believe alternate depending on traffic. Could it be that the router switches at some point and I lose my connection to the XMC but then regain it when I cycle the wi-fi off, then on? Just a thought.....

I can confirm that re-setting the wi-fi connection works consistently. What's noticeable to me is that when I fire up the app, it starts, nothing happens and a rescan does nothing. After toggling the wi-fi and re-starting the app it seems to pause for a second or two, looking for the XMC and then locks onto it.
