I really enjoyed the "Emotiva On The Road" event held in LA on 8/30/14. The venue was great, the catered goodies (including a nice lunch) were excellent as well! I was very (unexpectedly) impressed with the Stealth and Airmotiva powered speaker demos - they sounded really fantastic - great clarity and extension.
I was most interested in the 2-channel demo. For the most part, it was very good and helped showcase the Emotiva hardware in a good light. I have only two suggestions - the speakers in the 2-channel room (which were a pair of Polk LSi M 707's - $4,000 retail per pair - someone correct me if I am wrong) were overwhelmed by the size of the room (probably 25 x 45 ft)! They sounded muddy in the mid-range and bass and the sound-stage was not at all clear. I think this could have been mitigated by using some well-considered room treatments. The Emotiva hardware showed a lot of instantaneous power, which was great. My other suggestion would be to set up two demo rooms instead of the one huge one - this would have allowed the use of a different set of speakers in the other room.
Keep up the super work on bringing us outstanding affordable gear!!!!

The Santa Clara show was great. A lot more people were there than I expected. I guess that bodes well for Dan and the crew. Unfortunately Lonnie wasn't there. That was a bit of a bummer as I wanted to ask him some technical questions about the XMC. But the food and the people were great. Dan's a great guy. Does anyone recall any deals on the Stealth6 with the on the road events? I will be attending Dallas and would wait to order if there are. Also, do they have stock on hand to take with you?

I can just say that at the LA show there were deals on all items, however some items were actually priced higher than the already great sales prices on the web site, I remember some or all of the Airmotives being in this category as was the Fusion 8100. So, if the product is already at an apparent 'all time low', don't expect it to be any less at the show. |
